QA - what it is and who it isn’t
My apologies for referencing a closed thread.
Guys, where did some of y’all get the idea that it’s the job of the Sim Gurus to test software before it’s released? Software QA is a whole thing that’s not the same thing as being a community manager!
QA has both code reviews and people handed the software with a list of functional requirements (say “curved walls, going to class, selling things on Trendi, and after school activities”) and being told “try to make the software do the thing, then try to make the software not do the thing, you have X days, report bugs here.” (I’m oversimplifying but you get the point.)
My suspicion is that they thought that weddings and high school are existing features they’re adding on to and therefore don’t require as much testing. Alas.
If what I’m seeing on Twitter and YouTube is correct, QA was wildly understaffed. (6???????? For an expansion pack?????????) If so, please guys, hire more peeps and be super kind to the ones you have. Ouch.
