Question: Character Values

I just recently started playing again and I'm a little confused on the Character Values. I had a teen sim who should have had 3 or more character values in the max, but now they are an adult and I don't see how they gained any new traits or anything. How can I see what Character Values they had? Or what traits they received? 

Right now they have top-notch infant and high self-esteem
