Question on Week 3 Blast From The Past Event

HI, I just have a question on how to get past this part of week three of Blast From The Past Event. Right now I'm stuck and I would like to finish it before heading into week 4 before the event is over.

    Pranking a toilet should break it.

    I had applied the Gremlins lot trait so that my Sim could raise her handiness skill.
