Hello everyone,
I've been having problems with the Sims 4 gallery today. For quite some time now and every time I open the game, I struggle to connect every once in a while. Not gonna say my internet connection is pristine and Origin is online. The internet may be online, but the game itself and/or the gallery is offline.
Here's the thing. Whenever I click on the gallery icon either from the main menu or the game/manage worlds/CAS modes, it recognizes it as offline. I try hitting one of the many options the gallery has, like my profile, and then Connect, whenever I hit Connect it just takes a lot to connect and the game/gallery doesn't respond.
I have tried several options, like dragging the game folder to the desktop and letting the game generate a new one, turning on and off my PC, but nothing helps. I don't know what else may be the thing. Apart from that, notifications fail to load on main menu too.
And I haven't repaired the game to see if it'd turn out better or not. Also don't know about the antivirus issue but I'm afraid it's gonna mess the gallery up even more.
My computer specs are: Windows 10 64bit/8GB/120 GB SSD & 1TB HDD/Intel Core i5 @ 2.80 GHz
Any feedback/help is greatly appreciated, thank you.
EDIT 1: Gallery is stuck on "attempting to connect" dialog and does nothing rather than "trying" to connect.
EDIT 2: Have also tried rebooting my internet device, same thing sometimes.
EDIT 3: Notifications sometimes appear, sometimes don't, but issue persists.

I’m having the same issue and play on MAC desktop which I bought early last year. I removed my MODS folder and ran the game and I’m still having issues connecting to the gallery.
it is very frustrating
i haven't been able to use the gallery for days now, and none of the solutions I've found have worked for me
I was able to access the gallery in game last night (1/4/21) around 10 PM EST, but when I tried again at about 2 AM EST, I was no longer able to do so. It's not connected when it loads, and when I try to connect, I get the spinning wheel. At one point last night, I let it try to connect for between 5-10 minutes. I've spent the last three hours trying these steps:
- Make sure Origin is online instead of on offline mode.
- Make sure your firewall or antivirus are not blocking the connection - add the game and Origin to its exceptions.
- Restart your router
- Flush your DNS - you can learn how to here: https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/pc/connection-troubleshooting-advanced-pc/
- Run the game and Origin as administrator
- Try to use a different Windows account
Not one thing in the list above has helped. Is there something else that I should try or is the problem at the source?
Note: I can access the gallery via the webpage in Chrome, but not in game, which is where I need it.
Edit 1: I forgot to say that I have both checked for updates (there were none) and repaired the game. Those were the first things that I did.
Edit 2: Clarified what happens when I try to connect to the gallery.
Edit 3: Clarified that I meant the in game gallery and added the note about being able to connect to the web version.

@NeoFelis22Yes, have done exactly the same things but not the last one. I use only one account on my PC and the game on windowed mode. I'm sure windows update may be preventing the gallery from connecting.... I tried repairing the game too (actually trying).
I have no mods.EDIT 1: Origin and TS4 are on my blocked list, I use Avast.
EDIT 2: Have repaired the game, still same thing
Hi, I currently cannot access my sims 4 gallery. This has been an issue for 2 weeks now. I have contacted MULTIPLE ea workers and no one can help me or fix this issue. When I go click on gallery it tells me I do not have an internet connection. I have tried to reboot my internet already, it still did nothing. Here are some facts about my account:
- I have a teen account. The age restriction for gallery is 13 and I am above that age.
- I am in my mom's household.
Would there be a way for my mom to grant me permission?
Please help me.
Someone suggested I delete my Origin cache to see if that helped. I did that, but there's no change.
I usually use the No Intro and More Columns mods, but I removed the Mods folder and deleted the localthumbcache.package per instructions that I found online last night, then ran the game (that regenerates the folder and all files except for the mods themselves, which I've left out.) No change.
I use Avast's free version, and both Origin and The Sims 4 are allowed within. I made sure it was the same with Windows Firewall.
I am also having this issue as well. Connected perfectly fine for me here in the US during the day and wouldn't work towards the evening. Currently talking to EA about this and have done everything to try and fix this problem. But I do believe the connection issue is on their end and they need to fix it, as we have invested a lot of money into these games.,
- wallisdj5 years agoNew Adventurer@crossdressinate I have Sims 4 loaded on two different computers. Both have identical mod folders. Computer A has a great deal more tray files than Computer B.
Computer A is a Win 10 machine with Avast. A nightmare with the gallery.
Computer B is a Win 8 machine with Avira. 90% of the time trouble-free.
Conclusion: Win 10 remains an adversary of good computing, and/or Avast is a horrible anti-virus to have onboard.
Did some rooting around on the Internet.
How to fix Sims 4 Gallery Not Working (https://www.partitionwizard.com/partitionmagic/sims-4-gallery-not-working.html)
I used Method 4, which worked for awhile. Haven't re-initiated the commands. Warning, they will reset your options in the game, like music (which I cannot stand).
Step 1: Press Win + S to open Windows Search utility and search for cmd. Then right-click Command Prompt and select Run as administrator.
Step 2: Type the following commands one by one and press Enter after each:
ipconfig/flushdns
ipconfig/registerdns
ipconfig/release
ipconfig/renew
netsh winsock reset
Then you can restart computer and run Sims again. I tried Method 4, and there's no change.
I've also tried disabling Avast's Shields multiple times, including after doing the above, but there's no difference.
I'll add something that I haven't mentioned, which is that I'm running the game on a Windows 10 laptop, with an Intel Core i7-9750H, NVIDIA RTX 2060 6GB, and 16 GB RAM.
Edit: I forgot to say that I'm in the United States.

Hi everyone
I just tested and it's also still not connecting for me.
Don't think any troubleshooting is necessary currently as there's nothing you can do if the servers are down.
I'm having the same problem. Flushed dns, disabled antivirus, but still can't connect.

Hi there,
Is the Gallery down at the moment? I have been trying to access for the last two days (based in Australia) and have been unable to connect. Origin is online, no issues with internet connection and I have tried all suggested remedies such as DNS flush, repair game, clear caches and remove mods folder.
Thanks very much!

- @🤭StarratsOo i format my pc and buy new windows 10 cod on this day first time get this problem never get before i have 7 years with the sims everything working fine before i really hope they can fix this soon
- @Lizaster523 If you tried everything else and are still having issues this is what I did to fix mine: Start up Sims 4, go to Game Options. From there navigate to the Other tab. Uncheck the box that says Online Feature Access and then click Apply Changes (if you don't click apply changes it wont work). Then check the same box again and Apply changes again. It kind of seems to restart the online access. Mine immediately auto reconnected and to my excitement that fixed it.
- @Orthodoxlily That did not work for me. The problem where it permanently "spins" and tries to connect until it times out still persists even trying that.
Have also tried flushing DNS, clearing cache, reinstalling The Sims 4 through both Origin and Steam, reinstalling Origin entirely, and pretty much every other connection troubleshooting I've found in the forums or Reddit.
It's funny that this happens the exact week I decide to play some The Sims 4 after almost 1 year without playing it. I can not connect either, so frustrating
