Yes, there are cheats to remove fears, and I've tested them.  They work.  Though the page is a bit hard to find describing it:

To remove a fear, pull up the cheat box, then type in:  traits.remove_trait

but then wait.  look up the exact code for the type of fear you have  There are too many to list here, but go look at that site to see them all.  For example, the fear of a dead end job is:  trait_Fear_DeadEndJob

Yes, this does mean trait is typed in twice.  Your cheat line will read:  traits.remove_trait trait_Fear_DeadEndJob

See, you just put a space between the two traits.  It does work, I've tried it in my game.
