Re: Child of the ocean

I don’t work for EA, but honestly, I don’t think the game considers traits when assigning NPC roles. It might prefer Sulani townies, but I’m not even certain about that.

(The one I remember is “Sad: hurt fish friend.” I play with Paka’a Uha a lot. I don’t make him fish! We live with his dietary restrictions.)

@xochiquetzl_xkvn Thanks for your input 🙂 I also play Paka'a in a couple of saves. I never see him as an NPC fisherman, though. None of the mermaids are seen fishing, ever. Practically all the other Sulani townies do. All children of the ocean are drawn to mounted fish, and will constantly go over to look at them and cry. I usually have to lock those mounted fish away, because of this. In basically every household I play, there is at least one sim who likes to fish. I just don't want my visitors to become sad.

They all seem to get picked as fish poachers, litterbugs and anti-environmentalists also, same with random npc conservationists. I just really think its "out of character" for any of them. Even my own sims do, if I'm playing another household. Why would you litter the place if you are actively working on cleaning up the enviroment? Its really puzzling to me.

Traits should matter in cases like this..

Ugh, yeah, Paka'a is a Conservationist in one of my saves and he's shuddering at the thought of being an NPC litterbug!  :D (He's a violin-playing NPC conservationist when I'm not playing him in that save.)

Paka'a's wife and mother-in-law are level 10 in fishing and we used to eat a lot of fish, but he used to autonomously grab it out of the fridge so no more fishing!  ☹️

I do agree that traits should matter; I'm just saying that they don't seem to be considered.
