One of my Sims in the household gets this every second day. I'll sort out the fear and it'll be 'conquered', then it just comes back. I don't want to get rid of the wants and fears completely as I like checking them off (as it were), just give me wants on their own, or bring back the whims.
So I've found a mod called "No Fears" on Mod the Sims that claims to allow disabling either specific fears or all fears without disabling wants. Has anyone tried that yet who can report on how well it works? Thinking of downloading.
Edit: Downloaded - and if anyone's interested, it works! Whims keep turning themselves on and off, but at least I'm not dealing with fears.
Might make it more boring since you can discuss them with family and friends, it adds to the game IMO. And then fear begone from rewards if you don't want it anymore. But yeah to many it's an option.
