Re: Free Desert Luxe Kit Not Available In Japan?

Hello. I believe that none of the PlayStation 4 users in Japan are currently getting the Desert Luxe Kit. I contacted Sony directly and they replied, "Desert Luxe Kit is not available in Japan. So we are not distributing it in the PlayStation Store either." I received an official reply. Sony also said, "Desert Luxe Kit is currently not available in Japan, and we don't know if it will be available in the future at this time, please ask EA".



Based on the responses I have received from Sony, I would expect that this is not an issue of personal environment.


Note that I have also tried the solution using the gallery already guided by EA, but it did not solve the problem.




I would love to see the Desert Luxe Kit made available to PlayStation 4 users in Japan.
Thank you for working to resolve this issue.

    Hi @mowmow_jp,

    Players in Japan cannot redeem the Desert Luxe kit for free as part of the loyalty offer due to local laws against such offers.

    I usually purchase the kit through Origin and play on my PC, which is a bit strange since Japanese players have no problem receiving the Desert Luxe Kit on Origin.

    That, plus the fact that the free Holiday Season Pack is also available to Japanese PlayStation 4 users, makes me wonder as well.


    Then again, a Japanese player reported this issue before I did, but no one had been briefed on the legal issue. Are you saying that you have looked into it and have now found out about it?

    i want to know detail why we cant redeem kit for free.

    and could we redeem kit for free in future?

    Hello! Just a suggestion here.

    Could you release the kit as a normal kit and give us a discount code the can get it free?
    And that code will be expired after 17oct.

    I have enjoyed playing sims4 on consoles for years.

    I was looking forward to the Desert Luxe Kit that will be given to players who have been paying for sims4 as a free gift to thank them for enjoying the free version of sims4.

    However, the Desert Luxe Kit has not yet been distributed to console players in Japan.

    I saw an answer on ea's question board that said "Due to Japanese law, Desert Luxe Kit cannot be distributed to Japanese console players".
    There is no detailed explanation that would convince me. There are no solid announcements by official reports.

    I am angry and saddened by this response, as I have been enjoying playing sims4 by purchasing the full game and dlc for a fee, even though I have had to put up with many unresolved bugs. It seems that Japanese console players are being disrespected.

    I hope that Desert Luxe Kit will be distributed to Japanese console players as well.
    If this is not possible, please provide a satisfactory explanation and announcement.
