I have been trying to get 2 sims to move into a household of 8 and someone told me to get MC Command Centre and I typed in the number I wanted and it is not working. It says I need to 'restart' the game but idk what it means by that. WhenI click new game I try and merge the household together but it says there's only 8 allowed. WHY ME.
it means that you need to change the settings, then save your game and then close down the Sims completely.
Then start it again and the save and the settings should be changed to have more than 8.

I have 8 sims, 4 of them are pets. then two dogs had a puppy so then i had 9 sims. But suddenly the father dog disapeared and its like he never existed help

this is also happening to me, my sims keep disappearing too!!! Did you figure how to fix this issue?
You can invite sim over hold on shift cluck the Sim and click add to household.
I'm having the same issue. After I put in the amount I want to have in my household in MCCC, I make sure to save my game and close it. Then, I'll restart my game to find out that it's still saying it cannot have more than 8 sims in a household. What am I doing wrong?

If you are still looking for a solution all you have to do is
1. type in: testingcheats true
2. type in: sim_move (first name)*space*(last name) of the sim you would like to move in
