Re: I Swore I Wouldn't!

@KingRayVeteran, I'm glad you are enjoying The Sims 4!  There are a lot of great features such as the ability to multi-task, the ability to live-drag certain objects (like dirty plates of food to clean up so your Sims won't be late to work or school! )  , easier Build Mode, the advanced intuitive CAS body/face manipulation, and the simple fact that the game actually runs, and doesn't grind to a halt! 🙌

I don't play with Mods, so I can't compare between the Mods for TS3 and those for TS4.  I did use some mods and CC for TS3, but due to a lot of problems with them in TS3, I quit them and have never returned! 😞

I've also been playing the Sims since the Original version came out! ❤️

And while you need the internet for Origin in order to get updates or to access the Gallery, you don't need to be connected to the Internet in order to just play your game! :😇

Well, I used to be a software developer; not for games, but corporate software.  So, the mods weren't difficult for me to figure out how to install.  I also purchased tons of build objects for TS3, but don't really need them for TS4.  The mods I'm talking about aren't for minors and I don't remember the ones for TS3, but I'm sure some of the same developers were behind both.  Thanks for some more tips to use with TS4; I usually don't seek game-play tips, but they're useful when I see some of them in forums.

I have another post about the Origin issue floating around here, and it did cause me issues for TS3, but I don't remember what I said at the moment.  Might've been an "I'm having the same issue" sort of thing, or just something that frustrated me when my internet services were bouncing up and down for almost a year.  A school was being built across the street, and I think they were the cause.  Anyway, something kept going wrong when I tried to play with no connection at all and I wanted Origin completely out of the picture.  I have other games that won't play without the internet, but they're from a different platform and are just as frustrating.  I had to connect to disconnect, which was silly because I couldn't.  I think 10 year-olds can make better game design decisions than some of these young developers hung up on the internet for game-play (hahahaha).  This is single-player, not multi-player ... they're lumping them all together, which isn't necessary.

I could reproduce the problem by disconnecting my router/modem, but I don't feel like doing that ... I'm in the middle of a move.  Anyway, have fun, take care and Happy Holidays! 🖥️

@KingRayVeteran, I don't think we are allowed to mention adult Mods here, so please remove the name of your Mod from your post! 😮

@KingRayVeteran, thank you for removing the name of that Mod!  😇

I remember having some problem with TS3 where I would have to be online to start up my game, but then would disconnect the internet while playing.  I find TS4 to be more flexible in starting from Offline than TS3, but perhaps I just didn't know the right way to go about it.  🤔😳
Good luck on your move, Happy Thanksgiving, and Happy Simming! 🙂
