Re: more ideas for sims 4

@Sashas0nic I use mods and I love them dearly. However, the mods you mentioned aren’t exactly what I meant, but it’s ok. (I might still use them though, because my sims themselves deserve memories) I don’t think I would use that ‘Memories Patch’ I was referring to myself hence the part of my original post about “Being God of a virtual world”, I actually quite enjoy creating the stories myself and seeing how other sims in other universes have different stories such as Darling Welsh, from City Living, is a great example.

Her story changes from simmer to simmer, in some she’s cis gendered, trans, non-binary. Some people make her and her roommates cousins, some say she’s a social worker that took Darling in. I LOVE THAT! I love the changing stories and how anyone can create a different story for the same character.

Also, I forgot who asked for it, but university....Why not have it as a Get to Work add on? Like, I can see EA, or a talented modder, having University be a part of their “jobs” menu and give simmer’s the option of going with the sim to “work” (University) or just sending their sim off. As for how to pick majors, maybe have a list of “Jobs” as different Majors and your sim can earn skill points according to which major chosen (There’s a better schools mod that does this for elementary and high school). Also when you “Graduate” and you receive a degree you get a trait called “Graduate” which can function like the “Connections” trait that gives you jobs at higher levels.

....

Man, I wish I could program.

No problem, @MsSamLStory  guess I mainly mentioned the MCCC as it has the Story Progression, and controlling of NPCs to a large degree, as well as much more (I don't use it myself, but hear a lot about it) also, from your mention of 'Stories' and such, it can do that also to an extent. (jump to about 6:10 mins in the following video, for those that want an outline of the mod)

I often post in these topic threads, in case people search for answers in the future.. 🤓 🤔

Afterall the Sims 4 is pretty packed full, with the expansions, but sometimes customization is there for people too ⭐

There's also a Mod called Meaningful Stories, by Roburky, who is constantly adding to its features.

Happy Simming: Play it, Mod it, (or not) but Have Fun ☕

@Psychotps, Some people want University to because they are replicating real-life experiences, others want it to tell stories, while others want it because they remember the fun they had with it in TS2 and TS3.  For me, I loved TS2’s University! ❤️🥳 I played that pack all the time.:eahigh_file:  (I didn’t like TS3’s University nearly as much, but I did enjoy it.)  I also find that by having University, it gives our Young Adult Sims more distinction from regular Adult Sims.

Farming is much, much more than just growing some fruits and veggies  in a garden.🤨  When people say they want farms, they usually mean they want animals as well: cows, chickens, sheep , and horses.  Not to mention that the produce from farms is on a much larger scale than even our biggest gardens could handle.😃  Also we would like to see grain crops: wheat, oats, rye, soy, corn.  With a farm pack (especially if it were an EP ) we could churn butter, bake bread with our harvest, spin and weave wool, “put up” canned goods, and live off the land. :eahigh_file: True, not this doesn’t’ fit into everyone’s playing style, but neither was City Living, or almost every other pack, except for maybe Seasons.😉  Are you saying you only want packs that directly benefit you? 🤔 I didn’t’ want laundry in the game, but I’m glad they included it since the vast majority of people really wanted it!  I don’t use the laundry features much, but I do use a lot of the CAS and Build/Buy mode stuff that that pack has!

You might use CC for more eye colors, but not everyone can have CC in their game or even want CC in their game! 🤨 I refuse to play with CC for a reason.  Other people might have parents that won’t let them use CC.☹️  And let’s not forget our fellow Simmers who play on a console and can't  have CC in their game! 😞

I don’t’ miss cars that much, and they are of little use in a  world that isn’t’ open. 😕 But I did enjoy refurbishing cars in TS2 where we also didn’t have an open world.  I just think hat if they give us cars and like they did in TS2, people will be mad that they can’t really drive places like they could in TS3.🤭

Also, in regards to the animations that they would have to do with spiral stairs.  You mention only 4 animations at the most (up, down, clockwise, counter-clockwise), but  they actually would have to do animations for each size of Sim that exists:

    1)Teen through Elder

    2) Children

    3) Toddlers

And this would be both up and down. So at least 6 and double that if they have clockwise and counter clockwise stairs,  which comes to 12  plus cats  (4 more animations {up, down clock, and counter} large dogs (4 more) and even 4 more if small dogs aren’t’ included in the cats animations since small dogs are the same size as small cats.

So, that would be 20 animations (and 24 if small dogs don’t share the same animations with cats)!  Though, this might only be 10 to 12 animations if all spiral stairs go in the same direction.

But…. I think the main problem with the lack of stairs is that there are 3 wall heights that our buildings can have. 😞 This might be why it has taken so long for EA to give us more stair types, and probably why CC creators haven’t’ done them yet!  And even if they had, we still need them in the game since not everyone can or wants to use CC and Mods.☹️

But Sim Guru Romeo has Tweeted a teaser about the possibility of spiral stairs coming to the game. I linked it above, but here is the link again:https://twitter.com/SimGuruRomeo/status/1163839694259384320?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1163839694259384320&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fsimscommunity.info%2F2019%2F08%2F21%2Fthe-sims-4-realm-of-magic-simguru-qa%2F

@MsSamLStory , EA wouldn’t do a University add-on to Get to Work.  That would mean that for people to use the University features they would have to buy Get To Work! 😮  That would really reduce the amount of people who would purchase the add-on, and then a lot of people would get really angry! 😞  Plus, any add-on of this type would be incredibly small in scale, and University would need to be at least the size of a Game Pack, and even better as the size of an Expansion Pack.  Yes, Modders could do what you suggested, but again, if you have to already have Get To Work to use the University stuff, people would be upset at the Modders for setting it up that way!🤭

As for creating different stories for the same Sims, I have seen the Official Sims 4 Forums discuss this , including discussing Darling Walsh, as well as other well known Sims like the Goths, Pancakes, Count Vlad, etc. But you can explore multiple story lines for some of your Sims by creating multiple Save Games for the same Sim or Sim household.  So in one game you could have the Goths move into a bigger mansion and have a lot more children; but in another save game you can have them divorce and marry other people, and yet in another game you can move them all to the beach and turn them into Mermaids! 😃  It is like having multiple parallel universes in your game! 🤓🥳

If you really want to program, depending on the age you are now, you can either learn it when you go to college later on, or you can go back to school and learn it.  If you really are interested in it, look into it! 😇

  • @Sashas0nic  Thanks! I actually downloaded the experience mod and it’s a little weird, but I’m enjoying it so far. I already haveMCCC, and have story progression on and I enjoy it. Also shout out to my girl Urbansimss!

@PugLove888 Sorry, but I feel like maybe you’re wrong about the whole “People would be mad at modders” point for two reasons.

    1. I HAVE mods that require Expansion packs in order to function. I also am not angry when modders (such as Kawiistacie) require certain expansion packs (usually for skills not available otherwise) in order for me to download them.

    2. People will, and always have, hated on sims for literally anything because everyone has different opinions and different ideals on what the “perfect Sims game” is. I remember the uproar when pools and toddlers weren't in the game and I still see simmers, and know people personally that will age up their babies and toddlers because they find them annoying.

I’m sure EA is busy with other things, such as their last few expansions and Sims 5, I know for a fact the devs are overworked with an endless crowd of people who seem to hate every move they make, so I honestly would feel horrible if EA did this themselves. But these are just ideas to have for Sims 4 that I personally think would be cool.

@MsSamLStory  glad you're enjoying it!  I would be totally lost without the mods I do use,  must admit and it's usually a quick process to check at update time, unless its an unusually large update.

Totally agree with the mods being connected to packs,  pretty standard for many of them.. in fact mamy mods are pack specific, including cc for different packs.  Was about to try out the mod for "seasons/weather" everywhere,  for Sulani also, as may be fun.
