@SheriGR Ooo okay yeahh i just read your other post thank you so much for explaining to me about tha

What expansion pack is the best and is there like an expansion pack that linda bundles some together (idk if that is possible? ๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜ฎ)

Expansion packs are free on the sims mobile? ๐Ÿ˜ฎ Do u just use the simeloens for those expansion packs? ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

(Update note:  Sorry @PugLove888  I didn't see your awesome replies before I posted this - darn refresh - but I think that it mostly compliments rather than overlaps the info you shared? I apologize for any repeated information, as you stated great info that would need no clarification!)

I'm sorry... as I said, I have had limited exposure to the mobile/free version, and I'm not sure which expansions are available for it and what they include.

IF you were to get The Sims 4 for a laptop (one that is capable of running it), and you are asking which expansion I would recommend to get first (before other expansions, as you have to get the base game  The Sims 4  before you can 'expand' it with an expansion pack, per my previous note...), this is my order/opinion on that:

Very hard to choose. For me, if I had to add one at a time again for the ones I have I would go this order:

#1 โ€• Seasons Very cool, lots of features added, and it made gardening and flower-arranging for a career interesting and a nice combination for my retail stores in 'Get To Work'. If you don't have 'get to Work', you can still work in the career and build the skill and sell arrangements - which can be pricy with certain high quality flowers from your garden.) I've had a lot of fun with the features of this pack... and it is WAY cool to see it snow and cover their world...) There are a lot of challenging parts that are a cool switch-up in your worlds.
#2 โ€• Get To Work (I would combine with the 'Dine Out' pack so you can do restaurants also...) This pack allows you to build, purchase and run retail stores, and I use it a lot. ( You can also own & run restaurants if you add the 'Dine Out' pack. The restaurants are less profitable to my Sims for the time and effort spent, but are really a great challenge and fun. ) The stores (retail) are my favorite if used to sell their wares. You get a pretty nice profit if you sell high quality skilled items your Sims make (or grow). My Sim households who do this as a large household working and running the store as a group are both millionaires now. They do work hard and rotate managing/cooking for the store, etc., but it is a fun, great challenge. Just scale back to make it less work. Still... potential for great money!
#3 โ€• City Living I enjoy this 'world' as an option for visiting or living in. I've always had my Sims in one of the penthouses or the 'Old Salt House' so they are not throwing away the rent money and because you avoid a lot of the hassles that apparently come with their apartment life.
#4 โ€• Cats & Dogs I just started using my 'Cats & Dogs' world and features... I'm enjoying it, but the dogs can be a bit of a handful, especially at first โ€”  a bit like having a toddler. The dogs I have are adorable, but somewhat needy. I highly recommend a doggie door and fenced in yard. They love swimming in the pool, too! There is also an annoying bug currently where I cannot hire a gardener, which is a near deal-breaker since I have a (valuable) greenhouse and want backup for if my Sims. I added 'Patchy' for help, though. (Scarecrow โ€” I think from the Seasons pack, and if you are his friend and chat with him he helps in the garden, and even picks up in the house some). It is pretty cool, though, if you love pets &/or cuteness.
#5 โ€• Get Together As far as I'm aware of, I don't use these features as much as I thought I would... but I may be using more than I realize. I tend to make very involved and large households that are already a handful, and external social gathering options are of less interest to me, but that is my game style. If you love social gatherings that doo not include your own or other created households, I would move it up on the list above 'City Living'. Some of my favorite 'build-mode' items came with this.

Oh, and yes, they do offer some as bundles. Check the website, Amazon, etc., for those.

Enjoy your new virtual adventures!  ๐Ÿ™‚

  • @SheriGR @PugLove888 I just got ny laptop today and its nice! (its kinda laggy a bit so im a little unsure about it but i got 30days before the return policy expires so ill give it a few more days to test it out).

I went on origins and tried the demo and it was fun and i wanted to play more :eahigh_file: ๐Ÿ˜ข ๐Ÿ’”

I tried to download the Sims Mobile Game but it turned out to be a bust. I searched online on how to download it. Apperently you need a program called "BlueStacks" in order to play Andriod apps on ur PC. I downloaded that (it took forever omg ๐Ÿ˜ข ๐Ÿ˜ž

After getting it installed it asked me to download the Sims Mobile and it turned out to be an apk file. The video told me to take that file and drag it into BlueStacks. I did what it asked and well it crashed 4 times. It asked to either reboot the engine or to restart my computer and ive tried both ways 2 times.

I dont know how else to do this. This probably sounds really stupid but I even tried to go on rhe google play store and see but apperently my device wont work. It was looking for a mobile device not PCs. I tried looking for some sort of google play for PCs but no luck.

Do you know how to get that game onto a PC? ๐Ÿค’

Ooo those expansion packs seem so interesting :eahigh_file: ๐Ÿ˜ƒ I wish i can be able to play them โ˜น๏ธ Maybe one day tho ;-; As for now i can only play Sims Mobile..well if i can actually get it on my PC  ๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

I'm happy for you! Congrats on the new laptop! Unfortunately I am not familiar with how to install the versions you are mentioning int this post, but since I am not completely sure this is not what you're looking for, I will share a link to a few things.

This link is a listing of Amazon's 'Sims 4' games, expansions and combo packs:  The Sims 4 (Amazon)

This link is a listing of Origin's 'Sims 4' games, expansions, stuff packs and combo packsThe Sims 4 (Origin)

This is a thread about the system requirements to run Sims 4System Requirements (for The Sims 4)

Guess I'll hand off to @PugLove888 or someone else to answer the rest.

    Have fun! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

@SheriGR,  that is quite alright.๐Ÿ˜‡  Between the โ€œrefreshโ€ and even just people answering the same post at the same time, this is bound to happen from time to time! ๐Ÿคญ My objective is to try to help other people, and that is what you are also trying to do! โค๏ธ Besides, Moonlight_Love can now compare both of our suggestions and make a better decision! ๐Ÿฅณ

@Moonlight_Love12, Iโ€™m so glad you found a laptop! :eahigh_file:  I think your mom is right in that a laptop is more versatile than a tablet, and will be of more use for you in the future!  (Sounds like something my mom would say! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ )

Iโ€™m sorry your phone isnโ€™t compatible with the Sims Mobile. โ˜น๏ธ But like me you have very little storage in it anyway ๐Ÿ˜ณ . I guess the term โ€œtech savvyโ€ is relative.  Thank you โค๏ธ , but I really donโ€™t know much about computers.๐Ÿคญ  I know aspects of them, but mostly just how to use them for my general purposes.  So, your ordeal with trying to get The Sims Mobile on a computer went way over my head! ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Hopefully your laptop can run The Sims 4 .  And if it can and can handle a few expansions, here is my opinion to go alongside SheriGRโ€™s opinion:

    • I agree with Sheri in that Seasons is a good general EP to get if you can only get one! ๐Ÿ™‚ I think this is because no matter who you are, you have experience with weather, and it is something everyone can relate to.  Realistic players like it for obvious reasons, but fantasy players like it for making each Sim day a little different, and they like the weather machine for its obvious fantasy/scifi uses! ๐Ÿค“โค๏ธ
    • I love playing with families so the Parenthood GP is one of my favorites! While it is not technically an โ€œExpansion Packโ€, it is a pack that is an expansion to your game.  GPs just aren'tโ€™ as big or complex as Eps, but EA has done a really good job on most of them!  I think this GP also works really nicely with the Seasons EP, since Seasons also has a lot of family activities/holidays!  This GP makes families act more like real families and not just a collection of different aged Sims! This GP also goes great with the Toddler Stuff SP and the Kidโ€™s Room SP, as well as some others.
    • Cats & Dogs is actually the one pack out of them all that I would get if I could only get one! ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿฑ (Seasons would be my second, though!)  The town of Brindleton Bay is lovely with a New England fishing coast vibe.  Animals are a must have for my life (just look at my Screen Name! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ ) โค๏ธ  While you can adopt strays by befriending them, or through a shelter by calling them to bring over a dog or cat, you can also make your own cat, dog, racoon, or fox! ๐Ÿคจ (The racoon is really a cat and the fox is really a dog in the game, but I love that they put this in the game!)  When you make your own pet, there are a variety of pre-set breeds to choose from, and you can cross breed them too; but the real fun is painting your own dog or cat (any color!) with numerous patterns that you can stamp or paint on!  Iโ€™ve seen some animals that have entire landscapes panted on them! ๐Ÿ˜Ž  The Gardener issue doesnโ€™t affect me much because Iโ€™ve only had 2 houses with gardeners hiredโ€ฆ I usually prefer to have one Sim not work so they can devote their time to gardening anyway.  For my extremely large gardens that are too difficult for one Sim to tend, instead of  hiring a Gardener, I just invite over the Gardening Club --- which brings me toโ€ฆ
    • Get Toghether! If you love having your Sims visit a lot of different places, (dancing, museums, the gym, parties, etc.) then you will love this EP.  While I  am more of a homebody with my Sims, I have greatly benefited from joining the Gardening Club (called the Garden Gnomes) and instead of gathering at their default hangout, I have them gather at my Sims house, where do all the gardening free of charge while my Sim reaps the club benefits! ๐Ÿ‘ฟ:eahigh_file:  And I totally agree with SheriGR in that this pack has some really beautiful furniture and architectural items! โค๏ธ (Unless you hate the English Tudor style!)  The main drawback for me with this EP is that Sims will constantly call your Sim and ask them to join clubs, which is great if that is what you want, but if you are trying to work on your career or train your dog, this is a nuisance! ๐Ÿ˜›
    • City Living is a lot of fun, especially if you love colorful clothing and item, festivals , and new foods! They have a lot of ethnic foods in this pack that you can purchase at food stands and then once you eat the entire dish, you unlock the ability to cook it at home! ๐Ÿฅณ  There are also 2 new hidden skills in this pack (a love for spicy food & the ability to eat with chopsticks).  Eat the the types of foods that correspond to these abilities and you will develop the corresponding trait!  There are clothing items and food from Africa, India, far East Asia, etc.)  But like SheriGR stated, if you live in a lot of the apartments you will get problems from either the neighbors or from the apartment itself (mice, roaches, breaking pipes) or even from the building superintendent!  So, the expensive penthouse apartments or the Old Salt House (just like SheriGR mentioned) are the easiest to live in! ๐Ÿ˜‰
    • Get to Work is a lot of fun as you get 3 new careers plus the ability to own shops, like SheriGR ;mentioned; but the best part in my opinion is that you can go to work with your Sim!  You can be a doctor, a police detective, or a scientist!  My favorite is the scientist , partly because I love science โค๏ธ:๐Ÿค“, but also because this career has some powerful items! ๐Ÿคจ You go to work and you can make a various items, and some of those you can upgrade so they can do more and more powerful thigs!  Do you have a rare crystal that you want to keep but you also want the cash from selling it?  No problem, If you are a scientist you can build a Cloning Machine and clone your crystal! ๐Ÿ˜‡ This pack also give you Aliens (from the planet Sixam) and the ability to visit Sixam! ๐Ÿ˜Ž
    • Vampires GP is a must for any player who loves fantasy, or just really Gothic looking furniture, architecture and clothing! ๐Ÿ™‚ There are all sorts of abilities you can unlock as your Vampire becomes more skilled.  This GP works very well with the Spooky SP too.
    • If your Sims love the outdoors then I would suggest either Outdoor Retreat or Jungle Adventure! Both are GPs. Outdoor Retreat is great for families, and especially for collectors and people who love to fish.  There is also bug collecting and a new herbalism skill!  There are tons of new plants that you can bring back home and grow in your garden, as well as a family game table, horseshoe pit, and campfire! ๐Ÿฅณ  Jungle Adventure I like more for either single or Sims or groups of adults, but kids can come too!  This pack is full of Central American and South American food, clothing, furniture, and architecture!  Learn about the culture from the locals, or become an archeologist and explore ancient temples !  I find this pack both beautiful and fun! โค๏ธ๐Ÿฅณ

Of course there are more GPs and SPs, but I prefer EPs and GPs to SPs, so I concentrated on those!  ๐Ÿ˜‰

I hope that either you can eventually get Sims Mobile to work on your laptop. ๐Ÿคž   Iโ€™ve heard of people using mobile apps on their computers, but not often.  Then again, Iโ€™m not that tech savvy! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ  I might not speak Greek, but I understand some of it much better than BlueStacks and apk files !  ๐Ÿ˜ƒ:eahigh_file:๐Ÿ˜ณ   Iโ€™m sorry SheriGR and I canโ€™t help you with this, but I think you might get more help for Sims Mobile on your computer by going here:  https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues/bd-p/the-sims-mobile-technical-issues-en

I would think it would be strange or even impossible to play this on your laptop unless it has a touch screen capability.๐Ÿค”  I wish you the best of luck with it! ๐Ÿ™‚

If you have any more questions about The Sims 4 don't be afraid to ask!  And please update us on your Sims progress!

Best of luck and happy Simming! ๐Ÿฅณ

  • Thanks! :eahigh_file: However I might need to return it, it's kinda slow. It was slower than my mom's 7 year old laptop. But it was because the clock speed. Mines is 1.56Ghz and my mom's is 2.5GHz.  I can somewhat manage but I can barely do anything. I got Sims Mobile on my laptop omg it took forever ๐Ÿ˜ž It didn't work because I had my BIOS setting disabled. But once I got it, I was excited but it was so blocky (pixelated maybe that's the better word but it wasn't great) (I did play the Sims 4 Demo and IT WAS AMAZING! I wanted to play more but it was just to create the sims. I love designing the homes so I'm really excited to do so. :eahigh_file:

I called Bestbuy last night to ask why it's so slow (it was slow right from when I turned on the computer and put in the settings in but I brushed it off - I was so excited to have my very first laptop!) ^-^ One of the technicians there told me that with a 4GB RAM laptop it can only handle basic needs and nothing more than like office 365 or maybe 1 or 2 tabs on chrome. He said I could upgrade the computer to an 8GB but that costs another $150 or maybe even $200 ๐Ÿ˜ข I don't have enough to do that but he said to get another computer.

    Do you think this laptop is good?;

  • @PugLove888

    Here's my update so far ๐Ÿ˜ƒ :
I got to play the Sims 4 Demo and IT WAS AMAZING!!! :eahigh_file:๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿฅณ I was soo excited for it!! I wish there was more to it than just creating the character - like at least create the home too (that's the part I'm most excited for because I like designing homes) ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

I wish I am able to play the SIms 4 game on my computer for one day just to see if it works. If it does with no lag then ill buy it. I'm just afraid of buying it and then have it lag like crazy then ending up with my returning the computer and losing my money for the sims 4 game I got.

I finally got Bluestacks working on this laptop the other day (it didn't work before because I had to turn on a BIOS setting) but once I got it working I immediately started playing Sims Mobile - I like the storylines they're kinda cool. I've played a bit of SIms Freeplay on my phone before and comparing it to the Sims Mobile, I kinda like Sims Freeplay more however I do like how you have more choices in the way you can customize your sims ๐Ÿ˜‡ Maybe i'm juding too quickly because I did have a bit of problems with the game - it was very slow and pixelated - very blocky and laggy. My friend told me using another application to run a mobile game slows down the computer easily - I didn't think it would be so bad. But I don't play it anymore because it's actually making my computer lag badily. I thought it would be just the game that would lag and the Bluestacks application and once closing it off it would be better but I thought wrong ๐Ÿ˜ข

I told my mom this and she said that we can try and look for another laptop. I called Bestbuy yesterday night and asked why my computer is so slow and he said that a 4GB RAM computer can't handle much. He said I could upgrade it to an 8GB RAM but it would cost me from $150 - $200. Even if I do that the computer would be slow. It's slower than my mom's computer (hers is 2.5GHz and mines is 1.56GHz). He said that it's better to get another one. He told me to get this $600 computer and i'll be saving $200 but the GHz is 1.3 which is terrible - it's worse than mines.

Reading your message has got me excited to play the Sims 4. I wanna play it so badily ๐Ÿ˜ƒ I can't wait to play it!!! If I were to play it, i'd definitely get those expansion packs :eahigh_file: My birthday is coming up so hopefully I can get it? Idk I usually don't get anything but maybe this year ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

As of now i'm just looking at other computers atm. I found this one on Walmart:
    https://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/hp-15-db0040ca-156-inch-touchscreen-laptop-white-amd-a6-9225-amd-radeon-r4-8gb-ram-1tb-hdd-windows-10-home-4rb25uaabl/6000198793295

There's not much reviews on it - well I didn't do much searching yet because I just found it - I was tryig to look for reviews on youtube and seeing how people try it out and such. I did see it on bestbuy for the same price and apparently it's bad. It's 8GB RAM with 1TB Storage and I think it's like 2.7GHz. I'm not a techy person but its definitely better than this computer and my mom's too so I thought it would be good but apparently not. Do you know? ๐Ÿค“

  • If it isn't any trouble for you then yes please ๐Ÿ˜‡โค๏ธ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

@Moonlight_Love12I'm so sorry that you laptop is laggy!  If your mom's 7 year old computer is faster, then I agree that this might not be the laptop for you! โ˜น๏ธ  I really hope you can get a better one for the Sims.   But I don't think you can get a copy of the Sims 4 to try out to see if it runs OK on your computer since once someone buys it, the code is theirs and cannot be given to or sold to other people.  (So beware of used Sims 4 games! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ )  Now, about the Sims Mobile, I don't know if it was your laptop that made it so blocky (pixelated), or if it is because it is a mobile game and you are playing on a bigger screen that it looks that way. ๐Ÿค”  Either would make sense.  We know your new laptop is slow, but mobile games aren't as detailed as regular computer games, so Sims Mobile wouldn't look as good as the Sims 4 anyway. ๐Ÿ˜‰  And if your laptop has a screen bigger than a tablet, then that could be a factor as well.  But I really don't know.  I'm just making a logical guess. ๐Ÿ˜ณ

I am also happy that you got the Sims Mobile to at least work on your laptop! :eahigh_file:  Kudos for figuring that out! ๐Ÿฅณ  I think your friend might be right in that if you have a slow computer to begin with and then use one program to run yet another program, that would probably slow things down considerably!  Closing the program down might help some, but it has taken up your computers resources.  Plus some programs run in the background as well.

If you ever get The Sims 4 (TS4) I would also keep away from downloading Mods and Custom Content (CC) unless you get a really good computer because most people who start downloading CC/Mods end up downloading a lot of stuff and that could also slow your game on a lesser computer.  But CC/Mods aren't officially part of The Sims 4 โ€ฆ EA allows creators to make their own items, but they aren't responsible for them.  And when EA issues an update/patch on your Sims 4 game, Mods & CC often become obsolete and it messes up your game until you remove the CC or until the creator of the CC updates the CC.  (I'm too lazy to keep track of Mods and CC so I don't use them!) Since you are just trying to get the Sims 4 to run on your computer (plus maybe some packs) I would just stick with official EA stuff! ๐Ÿคจ  If and when you get a really good computer, then you can consider CC or not! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Now about the other laptop you are thinking of getting, again, I don't know if that would be a good one, plus if it was a good one or not for you depends if you are planning on just running the Sims Mobile, or if you are planning on running the Sims 4.  Since I don't know about that, and it is such a big purchase, I really don't want to give you wrong information!  So, I am tagging @172e3cda00349872 who has helped other people in the past find computers in their price range that would work for the Sims 4!  @172e3cda00349872 can read your dilemma and then give better advice than I can!  ๐Ÿ˜‡  Like I said before, I'm better for gameplay questions, and things of that nature! ๐Ÿ˜‰

I'm also glad to know that you love building houses and other buildings!  If and when you do get TS4 and some expansions, keeping that in mind will help you decide on which packs to get or which to get first.  Like @SheriGR stated, even if you don't play with clubs in your game, Get Together has some wonderful architecture! โค๏ธ  I also know some people don't even like playing with vampires, but love the Vampires GP for its architecture, clothing, and furniture!  ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Since you would like to see some in-game pictures, here are some.  Almost all houses were downloaded from the Gallery and made either by EA/Maxis or other players besides myself!  I made most of the Sims you will see in the pictures, since that is my favorite thing to do! โค๏ธ๐Ÿฅณ  I couldn't stop adding pictures, so there are many packs I didn't even get to.  If you want to see more (like from Seasons and Pets) then just tell me and either I can start a new thread so as not to clog up this one, or better yet I can send you the pictures in your inbox!

  • @PugLove888  Yeahh my mom is telling me to return it ๐Ÿ˜ข I mean ever since then i haven't opened Bluestacks and Sims Mobile and everything has been fine since (a little bit laggy but decent) but I know it's not gonna be good enough for Sims 4. ;-; Yeahh you're right i think it's because of my screen and all and the fact that it's meant to be only for mobile devices. ๐Ÿค”  Used sims games? I never knew people sold used sims games ๐Ÿคญ

    Thanks :eahigh_file: and yeahh ive tried to closed down the program but even closing down made it lag even more. I just don't touch that program anymore ;-; Im more focused on looking for anohter laptop and learning more on how to find a good laptop at a good price. So far i think these 3 computers are good but the reviews are concerning me;

    1) https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product/hp-15-6-laptop-jet-black-amd-a10-9620p-1tb-hdd-8-gb-ram-windows-10/12358337.aspx?

The reviews on bestbuy are bad but i've looked up videos on how to look for a good afforable computer yet have good features for school stuff as well as games. From what i know I should look for 8GB RAM, SSDRAM, 1TB HDD, 1366 x768 res or 1920 x 1080

Ooo thank you for tagging your friend to help me :eahigh_file:

and omg those pictures are so cool!!! ๐Ÿ˜ขโค๏ธ:eahigh_file:๐Ÿ˜ƒ  Im so jealous ๐Ÿ˜ข

@Moonlight_Love12, I'm sorry you have to return it, but at least that should allow you to get a better laptop!

Just be sure to never buy a used Sims4 game! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ  Some people have spent money buying a used game only to find out that it was useless without the code ๐Ÿ˜ข๐Ÿ˜  , and the code can't be sold! I don't know if the person selling the used game didn't know this and it was an honest mistake, or if they did this on purpose just to gain a few bucks. ๐Ÿค’  But these codes have to be used by EA to prevent pirating. However, if you buy your game online at the Sims Store on the official site, you don't have to worry.  I got my base game at Game Stop, but all of my EPs, GPs; and SPs have been downloaded either through Origin (which launches the game and updates it for you) or downloaded from the Sims 4 Main Menu in the game! (Origin is part of EA).

I'm happy you have a few computers to choose from. ๐Ÿ™‚  I hope @172e3cda00349872 can read all you are going through and has time to reply. ๐Ÿคž  Most of us don't work for EA and just volunteer.

The only other thing I know is that you also need a pretty good graphics card to play the Sims4.  Which graphic card requirements I don't know, but I think it might say what they are on the official Sims 4 site.  But keep in mind that some other requirements (like memory) might need to be increased a bit if you eventually get all the packs.

Also, when you talk to a sales person about using the computer for games, I would specifically mention the Sims 4 in case they are familiar with it  and its requirements.

I didn't mean to make you jealous!  I was trying to satisfy your Sims 4 curiosity, not make you feel bad! โ˜น๏ธ  So I won't add anymore pictures unless you ask!  But I will add that my avatar is of a Pug that I made when I got the Cats & Dogs EP!  ๐Ÿถ

Best of luck, and if you (or your Mom) have any more questions, we will try to help!
