Re: Sims 4 Bills

I've just started the game, I'm at my 1st career, scientist, almost have nothing in my house and every week, my bills go up by $3000!  Paid $9,596 last week and they're now charging me $12,495 for this week.  I've got nothing expensive in my house, just started the game.  Have a 20 x 30 lot and my bill was for $11 for power.  All the rest is for Lot Taxes.  I used to have a big mansion on the 50 x 50 lot with 4 levels and a basement and I had bills of $343 sometimes and never got bills exceeding $1000.  And now, with a much smaller build, with almost nothing in it and they keep augmenting it like crazy week after week, so much so that I cannot pay it anymore as I have quit my job to start another one and it's eating ALL of my salary!  I tried to find a thermostat or thermometer but to no avail, there isn't any.  Tried to put a fireplace in but it didn't change the outcome.  The expensive things I have are my collections that I've started collecting such as crystals, metals, elements, fish and MySims Trophies.  I don't know how to alleviate the problem because this is getting out of hand fast.  If this continues like this, I will be unable to stay in this small house...

  • @Mysteek220065 Are you using a house in the Snowy Escapes world? Try a lot in a different town. ALL Snowy Escape lots are bugged. The power usage on those bills are MUCH higher than other lots. Even on an empty lot, it uses a ton of power even before you build anything. This causes very expensive bills there.
  • @Azzarar In another post in "Help" (In the technical section), they said that using a thermostat can really up your bills.

But the bills are ridiculous currently. (I don't mind because my Sims have so much money that it helps keep the total they have from maxing out. But it's nasty when you aren't a "millionaire.")

I'm hoping that they fix this as it is a problem.
