Re: Sims 4 mods and cc suggestion.

While I understand the frustration, that is physically impossible. Not only because there are thousands of mods and custom content out there, but it's also impossible to know what mods/cc will break before a patch is out. It's the players responsibility to ensure their mods are up to date with the game, and to take them out before patches.

    Yeah, unfortunately....

I would love this, too! but the Sims team doesn't analyze or clear or otherwise do ANYTHING with mods. Modders have free reign to do whatever they want.

(I want infants and science babies but haven't patched yet, I'm waiting to for my mods to clear and also my current rotational save is doing university right now so I'm not in a huge rush. But I'm also doing some mod weeding as well. Ulp.)

Keep an eye on this thread and its successors:  https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/1007107/broken-updated-mods-cc-march-2023-infants-patch

There's also a mod called Better Exceptions that runs a patch day scan on your mods...

  •  @frogcandles I don't mean before just at least a week after. The fact people need to wait and delete mods while the creator is updating is annoying when mods and cc make the game more fun. I mean majority of sims players would probably say that the mods and cc make their game and households. ALSO I had no idea I have to update my mods after every update they have for base game 😂 and I just got back on sims 4 since November. I wish it was possible to see the broken mods.

Is there a way for modders to have their mod downloads update automatically every update so they wouldn't have to go back and update it after every basegame update?

@GossipGirlRata If you install all your mods through CurseForge, it can supposedly manage auto updates for you (as long as the modder releases an update for it to install). I had too much trouble trying to get it working on Mac though, so just deleted it and went back to managing my mods myself.

I think a lot of Simmers would be disappointed if EA took over managing all mods completely, because they’d put a lot of restrictions on them. There’s several popular ones that aren’t allowed on CurseForge.
  • Okay why can’t ea add CC and mods on console all they need to do is add the option where CC and mods can be enabled on pc like it seriously isn’t that hard
