Re: Single-Level Aspirations

@xochiquetzl_xkvn , you bring up a good point!🙂  Some of the goals are too easy to be a level 4 goal.  Ideally the goals should scale up.  And tutorial aspirations aren't much fun to play with except maybe the first time!  It ends up being a wasted aspiration with little gameplay value. 😞

@PugLove888  Yeah, "tutorial" aspirations just don't have a lot of replay value. ☹️ Not like Freelance Botanist or Nerd Brain, both of which I do often.

For Snowy Escape, I find the Extreme Sports Enthusiast aspiration so much more fun than Mount Komorebi Sightseer, for example.

@xochiquetzl_xkvn , I use Freelance Botanist an awful lot, and I also often choose Nerd Brain! My other go-to is Renaissance Sim because that way my Sim can focus on several different things ! 🤓

Yes, I also have played more with the Extreme Sports Enthusiast more than the Mt. Komorebi Sightseer for that reason! 😅

I wish there was a different way to learn new aspects of a pack without it being an Aspiration, and that way we could have more real aspirations!

@PugLove888  Yeah, I play on either long lifespan or aging off, and I often have my teens do Body Builder and Friend of the World... and sometimes Nerd Brain as well. I always set non-occult Sims to have Renaissance Sim as their first teen aspiration on age up for the Quick Learner bonus.

Other aspirations I really like and do a lot include Jungle Explorer, Bestselling Author, Painter Extraordinaire, Musical Genius, etc. Occult Sims who have aspirations (looking sadly at mermaids and aliens) always do the knowledge aspiration associated with their occult type. My spellcasters do both; my Vampires do Master Vampire and often Good Vampire (sometimes that feels out of character; Vlad would never do that aspiration, LOL!) Angling Ace is also fun, especially if your Sim enjoys cooking (and doesn't have the Child of the Ocean trait).  I love the cooking aspirations but don't want all my Sims to be in the culinary career, so I can only do them with certain Sims. (I guess that might count for Renaissance Sim, though!) Ditto for Computer Whiz; I like it a lot but don't want all my Sims to go into the career.

I find the Beach Life aspiration very boring and repetitive but often do it in lieu of spending all those satisfaction points on Carefree. Oddly enough, the hardest part of that aspiration is on step 2, the kava party, which I find ironically stressful (since kava is supposed to relax you!).

I find Party Animal to be super buggy but the reward trait is great! (Basically, all events, including dates and parties, start at Silver.) Combine that with a great reputation from Get Famous and your Sim basically can't fail at parties. <3

@xochiquetzl_xkvn I usually play either normal lifespan or long life, but I rarely have aging off (though some of my save games I do play with ageing off, but it is rare). Yes, Most of my occult Sims have the corresponding aspirations, unless I play a large family of supernatural Sims where there is always that one does their own thing! 😃 (So what if the entire family has withered stomachs...this one Vampire Sims aspires to be a chef! 🤣 ) I also like the Good Vampire aspiration when I want a bit of a challenge!
    😅
I do tend to do the Author, Painter, and Musician aspirations a lot, as well as cooking. My problem with cooking is the dinner party, since I hate throwing parties in the game!  So usually they are unfulfilled! 🤭😅  I haven't done Angling Ace in a while, and I need to do it again! I do love the Collector Aspiration and use it a lot!!!
Child of the Ocean is a bit odd if you pick it for a Mermaid since Mermaids are part fish, but many fish eat other fish/shellfish! i guess that scene from the movie Splash where Madison is eating the lobster is just how I always pictured mermaids! 😂😅 The Mermaids in the game certainly have the teeth for it! 🤣
I also tend to do the Parenting Aspiration for Sims I make as adults.

I've never gotten far in the Beach Life Aspiration because of that party!  I think that party should be the final level, since parties are so hard! So you know I've never finished the Party Animal aspiration ! 😳🤣  But that does sound like a great Reward Trait!

Sometimes I make Sims with aspirations knowing I won't complete them, just because I think that Sim fits that personality. 😎

My Sims tend to marry Paka'a Uha, one of the prebuilts, and he's a Goofball, a Child of the Ocean, and a Music Lover. So I have a lot of experience with that Child of the Ocean trait, lol. If other Sims in the house are eating fish I have to micromanage him or he gets the wrong leftover/takes a serving and gets sad. I agree that fish eat other fish, but... as a vegetarian myself I just roll with it. He's a Conservationist in one of my saves so I have too much fun with his documentary titles and descriptions and that trait:

    GLORIOUS FISH OF SULANI

Look at my fish friends!  LOOK AT THEM! Aren't they beautiful? Aren't they majestic? Aren't they DELIGHTFUL?  SAVE SULANI SAVE MY FISH FRIENDS!

@xochiquetzl_xkvn , I tend to micromanage my Sims in general! So I understand how hectic it can be even if you are just micromanaging for one Sim!  I have a similar experience with my Vegetarian Sims that share a house with non-Vegetarians! I will have, for example, one parent who doesn't eat meat and upon turning into a teen I will have the teen practice making dinner and I forget that the taco casserole isn't something the mom can eat! 🤭  And now this is even more difficult with Sims who have the Lactose Intolerant trait! 😅  I have to really pay attention when I play those families!

I love your story for Paka'a Uha!🥰  I can totally see it! Fantastic descriptions! 👍

If you have City Living, you can get him into politics on the "Fish Are Friends, Not Food" platform! 🤣
