Re: Suggestion for an expansion pack

@3133578a54c40463  you could kind of create a version of it. All you'd need to do is move in several teens from households. So they'd still have a family elsewhere but they'd need one adult on the premises and that would be your kind of lead character. They actually wouldn't need families really since you could just have one Adult/Young Adult and unrelated teens and that would still be fine.

To make a Head Teacher or something like that you'd just need to use "Register with Ministry of Labour". Give the school a name and then add that in their made up job title. Also give them the reward trait of "Mentor".

You could then have teens practising and learning from books, build your own dorms, etc. You could still invite their relatives to visit on set family days which you could add to the calendar.

You could even have them still go and stay with their parents at their original home (if they have one) by giving them the "Always Welcome" reward trait.

I mean, it would be quite a project to design and to play. But you could technically do something along those lines. It would be a bit of work so if you attempted it I'd build up reward points to give them some traits to help with managing all those needs, like hunger and hygiene and sleep, particularly for the lead character. Otherwise you'd get nothing done. Maybe suspend Wants and Fears too while it's in play as managing that many would be an uber challenge. If the school building met the requirements for "Mansion Baron" that would give them quite a few reward points at the start to help you out. You could hire Maids and if you have Vintage Glamour you could hire a Butler to help out too.

I have a pet project which is to kind of bend the rules of the game to add what's not quite possible. This one is giving me lots of ideas! Great suggestion!

@simsplayer818 what a great idea! 🙌  I think the "Rally the Troops" reward trait could also help!  And I wonder if making a "club" (if you have Get Together) would help. 🤔 For the really dedicated player, this could be a f🥳un project!

@PugLove888 I'm tempted to try it at some point. But I do have a trick to start the game with a lot of reward points for all householders in a big household to make life easier. I think it would really need that or needs would take over. On console I had to be creative to achieve it. That's how I keep a big household from making me yell at the TV "how can you possibly be hungry again and you only just went to the bathroom! Delete Sim!".
It's a great idea for a pack. I used to love boarding school books growing up. I used love the early HP books too but then I think it lost it's soul to the movies. But I live close to where the first movie was filmed and the school corridors are in a building that is close to my heart and would give a lot of inspiration. Britechester architecture would work well I think, with some Glimmerbrook thrown in on a Windenburg lot.
I'm going to keep it in mind to try it sometime. After I've added HSY too. I'm keeping an eye on bug fixes and players HSY reports first.

@simsplayer818 I will probably not try this because if I were to do this I wouldn't have any time to help out here! A few years ago (either 2018 or 2019, I think) I was going to try the Doctor Who Challenge, but I was just too busy testing things in my game, investigating new packs, and helping out here to really do the challenge. But If anybody were to try this, I would love to see pictures!!!

I was always interested in boarding schools as well! I read several books as a child that were set in boarding schools, and  I had a friend that we would always play "Boarding School" when we spent the night at each other's houses!🙌 Harry Potter didn't get published until I was already an adult, though I did read all the books.  I had seen the first 2 movies and liked them, but didn't see why the books were that popular, so I asked my niece who was at the perfect age at the time if the books were really that good.  She told me that the first 2 were good, but the 3rd and 4th book (which was as far as the books had gone at that time) were waaaaaay better.  So I checked them out of the library and boy was she right!!!🥳 While I love the movies, most of them leave out so much that they just can't compare to the books.  The 3rd book is my favorite, but it is my least favorite movie because they leave out important information as to who Padfoot, Mooney, Wormtail, and Prongs were!  This is unforgivable in storytelling.  My sister-in-law was confused by the movie and thought it was her fault, so she asked my husband and me and we had to explain what was left out!  I feel the 3rd, 4th, and 6th books suffered the most in the movies! 😭

That is wonderful that you live so close to where the first movie was filmed!!! 😮😄You are very fortunate!🥰  The closest I've gotten to Harry Potter is going to Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida ! It was great, but unfortunately it was before Hagrid's motorbike ride rollercoaster was installed. But we did eat breakfast at the Three Broomsticks, and i felt like I really was in the movie! 🙌

Hopefully you can create in the Sims 4 a way to simulate Hogwarts to your liking! 🤞
