Re: Try this: Why is my sim's ID not showing when I use the cheat code?

This is my first post, so bare with me. I'm fairly new to sims. I've had it for a while, but I always get side tracked in build/buy mode before I get to playing. (Courtesy of my ADHD). I wanted to use a commonly posted cheat code to get my SIM ID number because I had no clue what mine was for the sim I was finally getting to play. Most of the codes I wanted to use required the sims ID to "work". 

Basic Info: 

Game: SIMS 4

Platform:PC

Steps taken:

1) Press Control + Shift + C

2) Type: testingcheats ON and hit the enter key

3) Type Code: sims.get_sim_id_by_name first name last name - and replace "first name" with the correct spelling of your sims first name and replace "last name" with the correct spelling of your sims last name and hit enter. 

Expected Result:

To see the current SIMS ID# displaying in the command line.

Actual result when I typed the exact spelling of my SIMS name:

Nothing happened. The command line remained blank. 

* Note there were no special characters in my sims name.

Sims name used: Alessandra Herne

What my mistake actually was: I assumed that since the first letter of my sims first and last name were capital letters, that's how it should be typed out in the cheat code. 

Resolution: Code only works when using all lowercase letters for the first and last name. 

Example that worked: sims.get_sim_id_by_name alessandra herne

Result: Command line displayed:  has sim id:
