Roommates in uni housing keep getting swapped with other townies

What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? - discover university - highschool years - parenthood - pets plus first pet pack - island living - for rent - get to work - cottage living - nifty knitting - crystal creations .
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Live at university housing, and then each time you travel, or reload the plot, check the roommates. 
What happens when the bug occurs? Each time I travel, reload the game after turning it off, anything like that, all of the roommates I had leave, and are replaced with new ones each time. 
What do you expect to see? I want my roommates to stay consistent during the entire term.

Initially, my roommates at university didn’t change each time. They stayed the same for the entire term even when I traveled and quit my game. I save very frequently so that way I never lose progress. This started to happen after I added the townie Garrett Watts to my family and I edited him. Since I moved him into my family and then out again, he no longer lived at the dorms. I was bummed and tried fixing it but it was whatever. Then suddenly, it started to happen with every single roommate. Even though I didn’t add any of them to my family. They’re assigned to beds and they are labeled as roommates until I leave the plot or reload my game. Then, they all get up, and leave the plot and new townies are rushed in. I want to keep the same roommates all the time so that way I can actually form relationships with them.
