Everything else can be invented. It's just a matter of the game registering that I have the required items to build them. There hasn't been any weirdness with that until just recently.
For the tasks: My sim has the task to use the sim ray on 3 sims. I will have him use the sim ray on those sims. That one will go through, mostly. But sometimes, it will miss a sim because that one is doing something else. However, when it shows a task to use the sim ray on one sim, I have to do the interaction again to get it recognized. The interaction is done, the mind-controlled sim does what they are told do, but it is not marked off on the list. During yesterday's playthrough, I mind-controlled a sim to clean. The sim took off to clean. But it didn't look like it was done on the to-do list. I had to try again to get it to go on to the next task. That happens on both saves.
If so, it's probably best if you create another bug report for just the simray tasks.

No, it's not always the Simray. It does happen often, but it is almost all of the tasks. I got the Satellite Dish to work. It seems like that bug was an issue with the previous game save. The test save I am still playing runs into the tasks issue. It's not just the Simray. I'm going to deal with the tasks being annoying. It happens. I can do the interactions until it recognizes that it has been done. The satellite dish disappearing and not being able to reinvent it was the main issue. Thankfully, that cleared up with the new save.
Thank you for trying to help me figure all of this out.
