Sims 4 no invites (City Living, Get Together)

I recently brought the sims 4 as it was recommended to me by a friend and I was enjoying it especially with my  two favorite packs City Living and Get Together since the feature I liked was that Sims would invite you to hangout with them in venues that were either at a lot (for dance parties) or was a rabbit hole. Is there some method to getting these to trigger more often because after getting two invites for a dance party and heading to the bar, it has been nothing except calls to go over to their/my house, asking if they should make a friend or date, Festivals (City Living) or if I want to go on a date?

Do I need to make more sims friends or turn on aging or something because while I still love the game, those invites brought life to the packs since I enjoyed getting those calls to make the game more alive and I'd really like that back.

  • @SereneAngel218 the more friends your Sims have, the more invites you get. The rabbit hole invites are extremely rare for my Sims but increase for my San Myshuno residents. I have just had a Sim living in an apartment in Evergreen Harbour (Eco Lifestyle) invited to a rabbit hole event though and that's pretty unusual for my game.

If you have Get Famous installed it adds the reputation system and with a reputation of Good or higher the invites to hang out or visit a lot go into overdrive, it's actually way too much. The phone never stops ringing!

But if you don't have Get Famous I'd just increase their social circle. I'd also join a club and you'll get club hangout invites and can also start club events yourself. Start your Sim on a popularity Aspiration too and collect the Reward points. Adding the Incredibly Friendly Reward Trait for 2000 points is really helpful too.

There have been bugs with this in the past though so do keep an eye on it in your game and if invites have stopped despite a large social circle let us know.

So I'm currently working on Friend of the World Aspiration and Neighborhood Confidant so this should help with me getting friends based on what you said. Thanks and hopefully, I'll get calls in. I don't have Get Famous but I'm having difficulty in deciding whether I should get that or Discover University while I'm waiting for Lovestruck to come out.

Yeah so I have like 20 good friends and nothing has changed so I must have the bug as well. Even worse is I'm on the PS4 so I can't even get the mod that could restore it. I hope once Lovestruck comes out, there is a bug fix to restore the invites or at the very least give us an option to turn them on/off like you do Lifestyles from Snowy Escape so I can choose the frequency of calls I get.

@SereneAngel218So can I check are you getting any invites at all and if so what are you missing? Could you perhaps track it in your game and I'll do the same in mine today and we can compare notes.
I usually get around 5 calls per Sim day but not all of those are invites. I'll usually get an invite when a City Living festival is in town and I'll very very rarely get a rabbit hole invite to one of those events that arrived with City Living. I don't get invited to the Snowy Escape festivals at all, I just get the pop up to say the festival is happening.
Have you also tried joining a club to see if you immediately get an invite to attend a club gathering? After that you'd get a call if the club hasn't hung out together in a while.

(Edit: I've removed link to bug report as it's no longer sounding like a bug.)

Wait, you can get invited by sims to go to the Snowy Escapes Festivals?! Aw man...

I get invites to go to City Living festivals, hangout at a sim's house/ asking to come to my home and dates since my sims has a boyfriend. I also briefly joined a club and was invited to club meetings. The only thing I don't get is the rabbit hole City Living invites, the Get Together dance/ bar invites ( got two when I started a new game but never again) and apparently the Snowy Escape Invites...

I'm just glad the emotional text invites still work though I wish I could do an Inspired text and a Focused text so I could be invited to go to the Art Centers, Museums , Libraries and other lots that aren't used to meet up. Should I put these suggestions in a different thread?

@SereneAngel218 no you don't get invited to the Snowy Escape festivals, I was just clarifying that incase it was something you were expecting to happen. Apologies for the confusion.

I don't think that sounds like you have a bug as you're getting the same invites that I'm getting. The rabbit hole invites are rare.

You can just invite Sims yourself to travel anywhere, perhaps that's what you're looking for. So just by selecting Travel on the phone and then choosing who to take to the location with you. This applies to all locations except the rabbit holes that arrived with City Living.

So instead of waiting for an invite to say, the dance party at The Bluffs for example you can just get your Sim to travel there with friends and start a party.
