Sims 4 Rotational Play

I think I know the answer to this but I want to be sure before abandoning Sims 4 for good.

I am a Sims 2 fan because I like rotational play. I like creating multiple generations and I want full control of what all my Sims do. Recently, my PC crashed and I lost all my Sims 2. I bought a new PC and decided to give Sims 4  a go. I implemented all the rules about rotational play (e.g. aging off) and it was just about okay, until the first child of my family went to university. Now, if I spend any time in the uni household it all goes to pot in the family household, and vice-versa. They may not age but everything else changes - moods, clothes, activities etc. I hate it.

From everything I have read there is nothing I can do to change this and if that is the case then I am going to stop playing Sims 4. Is there anything I can do? Is there any possibility EA might bring back rotational play for those of us who prefer this mode of playing?

Thanks

  • Have you tried adjusting the neighborhood stories? They seems to help with that alot in my game. Also, if you want to control everything, there is a setting to turn autonomy off.

I played sims 2 for 10 years. I do miss alot about it, but am still enjoying Sims 4 for right now. But I have everything to reinstall sims 2 if I get bored with this version 😁

Not OP, but turning neighbourhood stories off doesn't even seem to work properly, at least in my game. The sims still contact me to ask me If they should have babies or go on a date. And that doesn't even solve the issues of time passing and my sims getting older while I'm not controlling them.
