i'm having this same problem! have you managed to solve it? if you have, i would really appreciate if you could tell me what you did haha!

It is a good idea to repair your game after removing your mods. Try that and see if it fixes it. 

thank you for your advice. i took out my mods and repaired the game, which worked! but the sad thing is once i put my mods back in, the game went back to being messed up and broken :( do you think this is just a case of me having to give up using mods and cc or could there be a file in my mods folder that is causing the problem?

You don't need to give up using mods and custom content. You just need to make sure that the ones you use have been updated, or verified, to work with the latest update from EA. Check the websites your mods and custom content come from to see whether they've been updated.
