Spiral Staircases

The Sims 4 seems to be the only Sims game missing spiral stairs. I think not giving players spiral stairs limits a lot of different ways of building and styling the builds made. I would’ve expected spiral stairs in City Living for the 2 floor apartments. If they’re going to be added I would say the Castle Kit would be a good opportunity to release spiral staircases (as the the supposed time they became popular was in the Middle Ages in Europe). If that didn’t happen I would say it’s a missed opportunity.

  • @SmaeCat   Hi!  Yes please!  The Sims 4 was the first Sims game I ever played.  After a while, I got the Sims 3 and, in the first lot I built on my own, I added two spiral staircases.  It was amazing!  I am so sad that we don't have them in TS4!

I wish we had these too. I'm surprised we don't have them yet. The nicest ones I've seen were in Sims Freeplay, but were so expensive it took me ages to get them at the time.

I go to ridiculous lengths to try and make creative staircases instead but it's not the same. I don't like them in real life (never attempt one in spiky heels 🤕) but I want them in my game!

@SmaeCat and @GiardiniDiMarzo  incase you didn't spot it, spiral staircases are mentioned as noted by EA on the horse ranch megathread. So hopefully that could mean we'll see them at some point 🤞. I haven't seen you on that thread so just wanted to let you know.

I bring them up in every meeting I'm in, regardless of topic.

And I'm in a lot of meetings.

The Sims 4 spiral staircases are my white whale.

Yes! We need them to make the round rooms FUNCTIONAL what is the point of being able to build a tower if you can’t USE it! And no, ladders are not a fix for not having the spiral staircases we need. Can this be included with a patch update when the castles stuff pack gets released? That would be a great time to do it, thank you!

@Knotwise13 That's a good point. I use ladders right now in the absence of spiral staircases but I'm going to redevelop areas of Windenburg when the Medieval kit is released and I'd like to do it justice.
My region has a lot of castles, there's a couple within 3 miles of my house. Castle and Cathedral spiral staircases are usually attached to the walls of the towers. So they wouldn't be like the Sims Freeplay style spiral staircases. They'd be a little more complicated to implement potentially but I'd like to see that style in the game. They are my worst nightmare to climb! But they do look architecturally stunning and I'd love to be able to design it authentically.
