The game won't let my sims marry?

My Sims had a wedding and when I click on the wedding arch to exchange vows, the exchange vows is grayed out. It says your fiance need to be invited here and Sims fiance is standing right next to him. I planned there wedding using the calendar using the wedding planner event. My sims do live in the same household but that never been a problem before. Can someone help me?

Same issue. Playing on my computer. I read that getting married in default wedding outfits fixes it. What did work for me is clicking the fiancé and selecting under the romance tab was “exchange vows”

The EA app stopped working on my laptop after my laptop updated, so I deleted the Sims and the app and redownloaded. Everything was working fine... until my Sims went to get married. It says that the Sim's engaged partner isn't near and to invite them... and he's in the same room. It's a wedding event, and they were both selected as bride and groom. I tried restarting the game, but it's giving me the same issue. Any tips on how to fix this?

Try clicking on the partner to see if they can Get Married under the Relationship submenu.

I was able to have them elope.
