There Needs to be an Option to Refund DLCs - Star Wars Pack SUCKS

I have been a die hard Sims fan for years. I have purchased pretty much every Sims 4 pack on release day and loved it, played the hell out of it.

Eco Living was... not great. But thanks to the work of MODDERS (not EA) it's now playable at least in part.

I like Star Wars, and the prospect of playing a Force-wielding badass seemed intriguing enough that I was willing to give EA one more chance with Sims packs.

Except... there are no new player states. No ability to use the force, no force skill that I can see. When in Batuu you're forced to play as a human and not even able to use one of the masks to play as an alien.

The districts are... horrendous. There is one TEENY buildable lot. If EA was gonna be too lazy to build out the other interiors for all the rabbit holes, at least have the option to make them lots that the players can build up and decorate.

This pack is shallow, and it is the first time I have ever really felt as though a pack was a money grab. And this one is a SHAMELESS money grab. What's worse? I can't even find a way to contact EA and ask them for a refund. Because DLC doesn't fall under their great game guarantee (which is crap in the first place). I can't even sort out how to talk to a human and plead my case.

This is the worst expansion you could have released

  • I agree and I'm working on a way to open a ticket to get this resolved.  You can't even set the loading state to not load the game (as per James Turner's instructions) since Origin insists on installing 'your missing game pack', if you instruct Origin not to load it.  I tried playing and ignoring it, but it's nearly impossible. There are no third party mods available yet to disable annoyances in-game.

Like you, I'm a Star Wars fan and wanted to give the pack a chance, but I've been entirely dissappointed with it. (See my review on my blog at: diranda.com/stormravenssims)  I'm super sad about this.

I'll let y'all know what I can find out.

  • @inspiritedmama I don't disagree with any of that.

Thing is, with all the buggy and broken junk being released nowadays, you really need to wait to buy something and check out the reviews and let's play's. EVERYTHING is broken lately. Not a single game or DLC comes out complete any more. Everything is released in pre-alpha state so these companies can make their money quicker and let the players deal with the broken garbage.

You just need to remember to NOT BUY anything until you see if what's inevitably broken is worth the money.

Most of the time it's not.
  • Just buying a pack without checking it out is a big noooo when it comes Sims 4. Plumbella on youtube is really good to check out when it comes to new packs. She's honest. She kinda hated the Star Wars pack. She called it empty and a money grab. 100% agree.

  • @inspiritedmama I really need to refund as I hate the expansion and had to work so hard at school to be given this by my parents. Now Im a bit upset cause im not allowed to get anything else(ive already played it and cant refund it after 24 hours).
  • Yeah I wish I never bought the Island Living pack. I think it is one of the biggest let downs.

I agree with everything @Psychotps said , what I've learn to do is have fun with the hidden object cheat for the decor, I use the robot DJ in my sims night clubs and the sims love the DJ and decor my sims gaming rooms with star war decor and it work prefect.

I read a few reviews on the game and waited until the game went on sale and got it.

Like most players said they should have made it into a amusement park for sims to go and hang with their family and bring back gift they purchased at the gift store.
