Growing Together: Cheats for milestones

Hello everybody,

the milestones in my game are unfortunately a bit buggy (either they only get partly saved when I save a household in my gallery/as tray file or they do not get generated at all when placing the household from my gallery/the tray file on a lot). For example, I'll earn a few milestones with a sim in live mode. I let said sim marry. I save this married couple in my gallery/tray file. I place them in a different save. Both sims have the marriage etc. milestones unlocked but the spaces where usually the sims concerns are noted down is blank, even though both of them are still in the household and did not get deleted. I also cannot make a sim gain milestones in live mode and then add a cat or a child I created to their household and them remembering that they adopted them. Either no milestone gets unlocked or it stays blank as well. Neither adding them via CAS nor via moving them in with a different person in live mode works. I already reported this bug but, to be able to play in the meantime, I was wondering whether anyone knows any cheats to equip or remove the milestones manually. Help would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  • @WingedSnek I don't know a cheat or trait to add / remove / edit milestones.
    I only know a mod.
But with that mod, you can not add milestones that point from one Sim to another.

For Example: You can Add the Milestone "Had first woohoo"
But you can not add "Had first woohoo with Sim ****"

@WingedSnek We NEED milestone cheats without mods! I am on Consol and my sim just fell in love….with his COUSIN! And he’s MARRIED to someone else. Ew ew ew ew! It’s creepy and I need this milestone removed right now!
  • I need to use cheats for toddler milestones, cuz I have the "learn the numbers" bug, where the flashcards interaction wont give said option. I've heard that if you max out all 5 toddler skills before the milestones, some of them get buged and u wont be able to get them.

  • WingedSnek  Because of a number of in-depth play goals (traits, aspirations, etc.) that I've played quite aggressively recently and never die before, I ran into several bugs that I had to work around via removing a trait then re-adding it afterward... or a couple of times to add ons that never got credited (or was lost when I saved to my library then placed the sim in a new save) - though it was earned.

Anyway, I found out a few things:
    1. The ability to raise or lower a skill via cheat is currently broken. (I used it initially to lower a few skills my toddler or infant had gotten too high to access another aspiration, but it was a broken cheat when I tried it on later infant/toddlers).
    2. There are directions here for the add/remove cheat process, and a list of some of the traits earned via aspirations and other ways. I used this  a few times to remove a trait that had been earned that was blocking my ability to earn something else. Then I later could re-add the one I removed. : https://www.carls-sims-4-guide.com/traits/cheats.php
    3. Another article about the toddler cheats: https://www.ign.com/wikis/the-sims-4/Growing_Together_Cheats#Toddler_Cheats
    4. I did find that some of the traits' cheat codes names have been changed. In a couple of cases I had to experiment with several different cheat codes I found in order to have it work, and in the case of a couple I found the code had changed to having a _ (underscore) added into the name. It was very frustrating, but in a few cases my experimenting paid off.
    5. If this is the issue and it's different from the bug report you mentioned, I will include it if it's of any use to you: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/OPEN-GRO-Toddler-milestone-max-movement-skill-won-t-complete/td-p/12403747

Personally, I usually did it by adding the term 'trait_' again after the space like in the example below (also an example of adding the _ (underscore/s):
To equip a toddler milestone cheat, use the command "traits.equip_trait trait_Top_Notch_Toddler" in the cheat box, which will give your toddler the "Top Notch Toddler" trait. (Enable testingcheats true before using the cheat.)

None of this is a fix for what you're mentioning (which you were aware of and made a bug report about), but I mention them in case something there is helpful since you're looking for workarounds.
