Tip: How to "work from home" for any career

I discovered a potential "bug" a while ago that I've used to my advantage.  I don't want this bug to be fixed because it has been quite beneficial in my game, so devs can just stop reading here.  🙂  

I've played a number of games with my sim in the musician career. I noticed that if I have him travel to a lot away from home and then travel home, just before he actually goes to work, he shows up at home but the game thinks he's at work.  (It's best if you wait until the feet icon appears in the action queue, signaling the sim is about to go to work, then press pause and then travel home.)  The downside is that there is no access to the personal inventory; meaning pre-written sheet music or other items to resume from the inventory won't be available.  Otherwise, I have access to any other normal actions / interactions.  I can set his work behavior as "work hard" and his progress meter advances much more quickly.  I can have him write a song or practice.  I'm also able to have him take care of needs.

This way sims can accomplish career building goals (play instrument, paint, etc.), build skills or complete aspiration goals while still advancing in their careers.  

Update:  I can also have my sim travel from home to a different lot while at work but actually not. 🙂
For this example, I had my sim travel home at 2 pm on the dot (start of his work day).

Then I had him travel to Stargazer Lounge.  He's still "at work" but my musician is actually playing music for the patrons!  So this is actually more like an "active" thing; following my sim to work.  Amazing!
