Too many Townies in the Jungle

Hello everybody,

I am playing out a little story i had in my head in sims and my sim husband is a hobby archeologist so logically he would explore the jungle on a little vacation. At first everything went as usual, when my sim came to a spot where he had to decide which gate he wanted to enter the place was mostly empty. I noticed that when i came to the bath spot in the jungle it was pretty crowded with a lot of sims. That was NOT a problem for me. But when i came to the temple it got pretty unhinged fast. First of all there where so many sims from different worlds which doesnt make sense to appear (for example the ENTIRE goth family) then Mortimer out of nowhere startet to go up in flames. Now the Sims are running through the temple like headless chickens and keep bathing in it. My Sim is trying to dig up artifacts but the other sims keep gathering around him and honestly it is not making sense for all those people to be here at all.

Does anybody of you have the same problems? Is there an option to change how crowded a place can be?

EDIT: Here are some pictures which pretty much explain the problem.

  • You are not alone. This is an issue that people discussed a long time ago --> Townies have invaded Selvadorada | EA Forums - 4955746

There is some feedback here too --> https://answers.ea.com/t5/Game-Feedback-Ideas/Lovestruck-sims-spawning-on-all-lots/td-p/13935701

Right now, I am not sure if EA will fix it because they treat it like a "feature" and move this topic to be just "feedback". Some mods can fix this case in Temple if you don't mind using mods. Rather than that, we can just only wait for the patch.

  • Hm, I can  not say that this was a problem in my game... I might have run into some familiar faces at the cantina and museum, but not while exploring the jungle. In fact, I have been thinking it would be awesome if my sim actually met someone, perhaps it would turn into a romance... I strongly dislike that the secret temple is decorated for various Seasons, though, but that is a different cup...

  • I want to add more opinions, if the game wants to add couples in Temple Ruins, why don't you do like The Sims 3 World Adventures?

Let them wear a safari or adventure outfit!!!

(Do not go to the jungle with high heels for example)

Also, when it's an exotic region, let them wear (appropriate) situation outfits as you did in "City Living", "Seasons", "Snowy Escape" or many more packs. It would be less annoying if that couple could blend with the environment.

P.S. But I still disable Tomarang's night market situation outfit and change to a party outfit anyway lol.

  • I don't have this problem with too many townies in the jungle.

I dont go there very often and when l do its for less than a day.

I would post this thread in the sims 4 bugs section of the forum if you think it's a bug in the game.

  • I don't usually run into groups in the jungle but there's no reason they can't be there. It is a community lot, after all.

The only way I can think of to get rid of them is form a group and take them somewhere else, then disband the group and go back to the temple. Of course, there's no guarantee they won't just come back too.

I figured out, that it has to do with the Lovestruck EP. I noticed that most of the sims on the lot where couples and read on a few other topics, that with the Lovestruck EP the game spawns a lot of couples on community lots which causes the problem.

I was just going to post that as well, there have been quite a few threads on various forums about how couples keep spawning all over the place to do some stargazing. It seems the jungle is especially affected; I've noticed a few of those couples at the gym in Windenburg, too. Then there was this one couple that after a party just stayed outside the hosts' house to do some stargazing, too, not to mention that almost every couple goes stargazing even without me telling them to, just because they can. It's a bit annoying, really, and the main reason why I haven't sent any of my Sims to Selvadorada for a well-deserved vacation.

That sounds awesome!! I would love to have that chaos in my game. Mortimer going up in flames really got me going. The jungle is always deserted whenever I take my sim there.

  • I don't get too many but it might be partly because I almost always replace 2 of the residential lots with communal lots so there's things for sims to do if they want to travel but not explore the jungle.
