Unable to have funeral for my alien child

Hey guys, I'm trying to enjoy the features of the Life and Death expansion pack and I am unable to select my sim that died. He is completely grayed out. I just spent a lot of money on that so I could have funerals for my sims.

If you use mods/cc,try moving the whole mods folder to another place, delete the localthumbcache.package and then test to see if the issue remains without mods/cc there.
