Vacation Rental Lots do not show up in Plan An Event

I have done all the testing - taking out mods, repairing the game etc. - and when I try to plan an event while on a vacation rental lot - in Granite Falls - only the forest lot shows up. 

Have done a web search and seen a couple of incidents where ppl complained of the same thing, but without resolution. I guess few have the problem or not many throw parties when on holiday? 

Just checking if this is a known issue, or if there is a workaround.
