Doesn’t sound like a bug.
When two sims get engaged I think it triggers a flirty moodlet and elevates the conversation between them to suggestive, amorous or steamy. If there are other sims in group conversation when this happens it will become very awkward, as expected. The other sims are cramping their style, so to speak. The couple will want to be alone to continue their romantic conversation. The others will not want to hear sexy talk. Hence, awkward.
oh... you might be right. i think i have seen this when two Sims flirt with each other and there are others in group conversation.
i honestly can't remember what these Sims' conversation "level" was at, but before the proposal they were having a deep conversation, as one should. haha. maybe we could see them have a "serious conversation" instead of the allegedly steamy one. 😉
i never noticed that proposing triggered a flirty moodlet. the couple was simply happy. so that might be why i considered it a bug. idk, maybe i'm just asking for something really specific. like have the friends clap or celebrate. i mean, they could use something similar to the birthday animation. 😉
Also don't think this is a bug as they are romantic interactions which cause that moodlet.
