Week 3 Blast From The Past

I have completed the first few quests of week 3 Blast From The Past and reached the "something went wrong" section...

I'm supposed to "repair or replace" my computer, however my computer isn't broken! It won't allow me to move on from this however I have no way of fixing a working computer!

I tried going to the library in search of other broken computers...bought the worst computer for reliability hoping I could maybe have it break...nothing!

Anyone have any suggestions so I can actually move on and unlock?

I bascially have the same problem, except I had a broken computer.  My sim got too tired and went to bed and overnight the gnomes came through and fixed everything. I brought a new computer hoping that might solve the problem but nope.  She's also elderly so exercising for an hour put her in the dangerously over tired state and is about to kark it hahaha.

I'm switching to another household in the hopes that I can have a computer break on one of them instead.

This should probably be moved to the bugs section as I'd like to click on the "me too". Thanks for posting though loooosy as I was coming here to do just that. Great idea sablesasha , I'll try that.

  • Same.  Computer never broke, so I can't repair.  Tried replace, no dice.

I had the same issue, and I tried many things  (buying a new computer to try to break that one, calling a repair service anyway, sabotaging, salvaging for parts, moving it into and back out of inventory).  Ultimately I was able to complete the task with some magic spells, which of course will only work if you have Realm of Magic and have these spells unlocked.  I selected "magic" then "spells" then "zipzap" to break the computer.  I then tried having my character fix the computer, but the repair task wouldn't end.  I tried calling the repairman, but they were also endlessly fixing. When I dismissed the repairman it marked the task "repair or replace computer" complete.  The computer still looked broken so I selected "magic" then "spells" then "repairio" and now it's functional again. I was able to complete the quest after doing these steps.

I bought a new computer, left it out in the rain to break, then brought it inside and repaired it 🙌🏼

It worked!! Hope this helps you too!
