Why does every sim have to be afraid of thunderstorms?

So, this is an issue that I have had for a while, and to be honest, I just decided to say something about it today because I am tired of all of my sims being afraid of thunderstorms. Like, this is unrealistic in so many ways. First off, they're inside. The storm is outside, it is fine. Second, some of us actually like thunderstorms. I could see it if your sim was able to be a scaredy-cat or they had been struck by lightening in the past, but the reality of the matter is, most people aren't so afraid of thunderstorms it affects our daily lives. For something that is supposed to be a life simulator, you make a pretty hasty generalization about people's thoughts and feelings on weather. I would get it if my sim was in Sulani and it was a monsoon or something, then fear might be a justified emotion. But when you are sitting in your apartment in the middle of the city and there is lightening somewhere in the sky, that is just an extreme fear. I've seen people go to psychologists for fear that was less disruptive to their lives. If you have to be soo afraid of lightening, why aren't you also afraid of snow? Or wind? It seems like any weather pattern should throw you off at that point. It's just unrealistic. I would get it if kids were afraid of storms, or if pets were afraid of storms, but adults should know that weather patterns happen and you'll live through it. I shouldn't have to give them a "brave" characteristic so they can live a normal life. And I get this is a small battle. There are many more things that are broken or illogical within this game, but this has always been something that has just kind of annoyed me from day one. And I figure I might as well start with complaining about something small.
