- brenleedee7 years agoRising AceI was on for a lot of the day and never saw anything like that...never could understand how you can fake download.
I think with the gallery change, people with lots of followers are getting way more downloads because their shares move up more quickly in the gallery.
I have a little over a thousand followers, and it can take mine days to move up over a hundred downloads..but once it gets out of the 90's, then I may have a possibility of doing well...but not all of them lol - claramj7 years agoNew Veteran

Probably just the usual gallery drama. I remember somebody was accusing Maxis of being corrupt because their custom posed sims never got any maxis favourites or something.
Lol I have the extremely unpopular opinion that custom poses should be classified as custom content. I'd love to see the fires.
I agree, because it often makes their Sims look better then they are, and those of us who rather play without CC or like myself who had a pointed ears mod in when I was making a sim without them, and the gallery still says its modded, even though they aren't, and it continues to say it even after the ear mod was taken out of my game, but their Sims aren't seen as modded, when in a way they are, it is unfair!
I wish there was someway of fixing it when they say our stuff is modded when its not modded, because I know most people don't use the advanced thing, which shows the modded stuff in gallery, they say they don't because if they don't have the mod then they won't get what they are seeing in the gallery anyway! I learned this when I asked people in a Sims 4 group I am in on Facebook!
I have a lot of Sims that is said to be modded, who aren't, and I say in the description that they are not, but I guess if no one checks the advanced thing, then they will never see them anyway, so they won't read what I said either! And I love sharing my Sims with everyone!
Oh and my truly modded Sims our very obviously modded, because they are wearing modded clothes! But most of them aren't modded at all, and none of my recent lots are modded!
And if anyone is interested in following me or friending me on Origin or the gallery my name on both is claramj ! - claramj7 years agoNew Veteran

As a Gallery browser myself, there's been some talk about some petty people playing a kind of flagging game where they flag all the popular creations leading to the creations not being able to be seen if users have reported content hidden. That started earlier this month.
As I'm starting to use custom poses myself, I disagree with them being marked as custom content. The only reason I use them is because the basic poses we're given are boring and don't provide better closeups of the Sims with them. The same can be said about the ways lots are viewed on the Gallery. Those camera angles rarely do some of the lots real justice.
If we had better poses and camera angles to play with, I probably wouldn't have to use custom ones.
Okay I see what your saying, I too hate the poses in the gallery and especially hate the camera angles for lots, sometimes lots across the street from my lots will get in the way or trees, even lots that are not REAL lots, and you won't be able to see my lots are all! - claramj7 years agoNew VeteranI won't even download from anyone, even if I like their stuff, if they say " don't re-upload and claim as your own " because me I don't care what people do with my stuff, as long as they like it enough to download it for themselves!
Sure all the gallery has to do is always show both the original creators name and yours and that should keep people from claiming that they did everything themselves! They used to do that in the beginning!
As I said from the start, I don't worry about what happens to my creations after I share it, but yes I would like if the gallery would show the original creator thing again for Sims and lots!
With the one's who tell you not to re-upload, I don't like that because if I don't like everything about their Sims or lots, and I change it a lot and want to upload it, since the gallery doesn't always include the original, I don't want to have to fish for the persons name to include it myself, before I upload every time!
Oh and sometimes I upload stuff just to extra save it for myself, because several months ago my desktop PC went out on me, so I had to switch to using my laptop for my games, which I already had The Sims 4 on, but was lucky that all my Sims and lots were online on the gallery, so I could re-download everything into my laptop game! So now I do it all the time, just in case my laptop goes out on me, so when I get a new PC, I will know at least my creations will be safe! Its something I think everyone should do, unless they use a external hard drive for that, which I do have a couple myself, but its still good to have them saved on the gallery too! It was typed by another simmer that she's following on the gallery. It's not anything official from EA."LaBlue0314;c-16798453" wrote:

Yes, sorry I didn't mention it, but they had written it in their bio section on the gallery. It really freaked me out when I saw it.
Aaaa... that makes sense... :) I was looking everywhere but I can't find it.. I thought it was a pop up or something...- Madamelee7 years agoLegend

problem was that there used to be a work-around and that people would upload someone else's with it showing (original creator's name) - Something else happened a few weeks ago. Somebody had a sim on the gallery with a ridiculous number of downloads (something like 15,000 in only two months). I did a little math and it supposedly had more than 250 download a day. Really!?! That's very impressive. I don't think this simmer had any other items shared on the gallery.
Makes you wonder. - @pookysimslover the problem isn’t downloading a creation and recreating to your liking....the complaints I’ve heard is people actually going into the gallery and downloading and re-uploading a creation as if it was their own, without any cosmetic work done to the original. One simmer found his work re-uploaded and all the “re-uploader” did was change the day setting in hopes of disguising the work as his/her own. The originator found it and reported it.

Such analytical anomalies will happen; how do I know this? One of my first Sims shared on the Gallery, Fedora Dan, is a great example of this. Go ahead and look for yourself if you like, the link to his household is still linked on my signature. Then compare it to my other shared creations and decide for yourself. Do you consider me cheating the system? "paradiseplanet;c-16800518" wrote:

I'm not accusing you of cheating the system, but I don't know what to say. When I follow the link in your signature to the website based gallery it shows 662,197 downloads. When I look at the in-game gallery I can't find Fedora Dan, even under your origin id paradiseplanet27.
The in-game gallery appears to a smaller catalog of sims than the website based gallery. It doesn't show several of the top downloaded sims that are in the website based gallery.
Now if I look at the in-game gallery, there are only 4 sims with more than 10,000 downloads. And none of them are the sim I mentioned in my earlier post. That sim was uploaded 2 months ago and the others are 5 to 12 months old. Actually, I can't find that sim on either gallery now. Where did it go?
