Why are there no questions for teens?
No one knows. I'm hoping it's because they've already started working on an update or pack for teens.
You know what else wasn't part of the survey? Dragons. - Story progression, growing pains and such could easily be a generations themed update! SP itself could have filters similar to seasons where If you don’t want it, you don’t have to have it on, just turn the feature off and you’re good, but for those who want it on, it’s there and everyone is happy.
I’m a realism generations simmer so you pretty much know already I picked babies, SP, growing pains and anything relating to expanding my family themed gameplay/story building, but personally, I think everything in the survey should just be an update free of charge, maybe save for high school as that in earlier games came as part of a pack, I mean sims 3 had schools but it was university that gave us that ability to interact with education properly. So I’m happy for the base game stuff to come in an update and high school come later in a game pack, if it means we get everything the game needs, really don’t care I am just super excited after that survey, suddenly it goes from no SP to SP, babies, improved overall life and so on, I am buzzing.
If any staff are reading, I pray at the very least they throw SP and improved babies in via update, I’ll happily pay for the rest as long as my sims surroundings become more alive similar to the last series, don’t need open worlds, I just want more story and more life.
Please note I know not everybody shares my wants/feelings, I’m not trying to talk over anybody, just putting my 2 cents in - I’m not entirely sure why some simmers are so against the high school idea....
I thought some simmers wanted their Sims’ lives to be harder? I know if I had a pack like that it would spell the end of my rainbows and unicorns utopia instantly!! ? ?? - I think the overall consensus appears to be that story progression is a wanted feature as long as it can be turned on and off. I am a rotational player and the game works beautifully for that right now. Would I like story progression? Yes... but I need to be able to control and customize its impact to some extent.
For me, the star option was growing pains and life issues. They would really add some needed spice to the game. Real life is full of events that you can't really control and you need to deal with the implications of those things and move forward. The sims should be the same! Right now sims lives are too simple, predictable, and easily controlled. I don't need mass havoc, but a few twists and turns along the way would be a welcomed change of pace. - Other scenarios that seemed interesting...
Bands - I feel like this fills the void of a missing singer/musician component of Get Famous. Would I have rathered it was included in GF? Yes... But I'll take it any way it comes.
Modern Love and Romance - Yes! This category of game play needs development. In real life, most people meet people online and sims need that ability too. Let me see a database of all the single sims in the world, rather than aimlessly wandering the world hoping to run into a suitable partner for my sims. And adding some depth to romantic interactions. Combined with real consequences for making and breaking relationships, this could be good.
American High Schools - This one intrigues me, particularly since it doesn't come across as a rabbit-hole description. Could this be an active lot that we visit and actually live through the day at high school with our teen sims??? I sure hope so! Add in more after-school activities and sports activities for sims, proms, etc. and this could be really good! - For locations...
Swiss Mountain Town - I've travelled to the Swiss Alps and they are stunning. Would love this type of setting in the game!
Brazilian Beach Town - I'm not sure about Brazilian, but a beach town for sure! GF missing the boat on having the stretch of Malibu beach houses along the coast... I mean the map even shows this but there are no lots there! Something beachy, without having to be in Sulani would be a nice addition.
Greek Islands - Similar to my comment above. Love Sulani, but very tropical, so an alternate island setting with a slightly different aesthetic would be cool.
Italian Vineyard - Yes! Bring back some Sims 3 Monte Vista vibes, combined with a bit of Champs Les Sims from World Adventures with an old town, some countryside settings, and nectar making. This could be great! I realize as I describe this that it does mirror Windenburg a bit, but could definitely have its own personality if done correctly. - Finally, some development of family relationships and game play would be wonderful. Keep me connected to extended family and protect those relationships from culling even if it is at a low level. Let me have a family reunion. Let me automatically invite extended family to weddings and other significant events. Let me plan a funeral and invite all of the deceased sim's relatives... funerals in general need to be incorporated... And graveyards, as another poster noted. (And don't let urns and tombstones disappear if the sim dies off camera - bring back the mausoleum and some of its features!)
Family relationships should also impact other relationships as well. If I am super close with a relative and they have a negative opinion of someone, I should adopt that opinion as a starting point to that relationship. That new relationship can always evolve and change but if someone I really love and care about has had issues with someone, I'm not going to start out with a positive opinion of them. Bring some drama to relationships! - This was a great survey and a lot of these features should enter the game (hopefully it will decrease my usage of mods, but I doubt it ;) )
Here are the things I think are great for me personally.- Story progression could be excellent if you could turn it off and customize it for played/unplayed sims. Choose what is part of the story progression in general for played and unplayed sims or turn of individual features for individual families or sims.
- Growing up and life pains sounds great because it would add more depth and hopefully difficulty to the sims life. I currently use the slice of life mod by kawaiistacie and it is GREAT, and with the sims team resources this could be amazing, especially if they focus on all life stages.
- Modern love and romance could be good if they add chemistry and realistic romance (i.e. not everyone falls in love with everyone easily). Dating could be improved and made more fun like in the sims 2, with good/bad dates.
- Bands are also a good idea. I miss the chance for sims to play music together. This could be extra well with the singing from city living. Hopefully kids could also play music together even if they don't get all the band functions. Also would be a great time to unlock the ability for children to play guitar, as they can do so in real life.
- Out of the worlds I think the coolest would be Scottish Highlands (very unique and cool), Spanish City, Italian vineyards (could be pretty)
- Emotions are a great idea to focus on. I love Roburky's life stories mod, but the sims team could do a great job making emotions feel different and actually change how sims behavior and autonomous behavior. They could start by toning down the idle chat so angry sims actually perform mean interactions on others more likely instead of just chatting.
- short and long term desire could be great and make the useless whims have more meaning. They could completely rework the whims into a sims 2 wants and fears system for short term desires, and long term desire could be things that sims want in the long run. It would be great if sims occasionally thought about their long term desires, or got various buffs based on them whether they were making progress or not.
- Finally developing traits over time would be great. It would add a lot of meaning to how you play the game
- Story progression could be excellent if you could turn it off and customize it for played/unplayed sims. Choose what is part of the story progression in general for played and unplayed sims or turn of individual features for individual families or sims.

I can only for speak myself. The american high school would be very usa-centric, but sims 4 have many players outside the usa, which influence their own playstyle. For example my country has a different schoolsystem. The american high school would affect my gameplay but I won't be able to play it like I want. I would be sticked instead to a system which doesn't reflect my own experience. :) - I'm British - the same applies to me and it was meant to be a joke but nevermind... moving on....
