If they do add them, then the cars should come in an Expansion Pack and be locked to the world. Yes, I know, it is frustrating, but it solved the issues of things not making sense. The world could be designed with cars in mind, with usable driveways that can be placed and roads that work with cars.
As of right now, imagine just getting in your car on, I do not know, Sulani and driving across the ocean. It would kill any realism that people want. It would fit well with university and such, but I doubt we will see that happen.
