Diversity in your Sims and or Townie Sims

But in all seriousness, the game generates a ton of diverse sims in my neighborhoods--if we're basing ethnicity on their names. Sometimes there are so many that I have to rename them.

I recommend you try it. It's fun to create a whole range of sims with different and diverse genetics and see how they play out.

I love creating diverse Sims myself. However, when it comes to townies, I agree with @So_Money. Those ethnic names can get really out of control - I love diversity, but it's come to a point where there's actually a lack of English names amongst townies haha. I never change skintones, but I might change hair colors when, for example, I get quite a dark townie with blonde or red hair. That way, it's easy to get a bit of diversity with townies.

i don't purposely try to make my sims diverse, but i find that my sims often are. i find many different cultures beautiful and interesting.
i mostly delete townies tho.

I CAS edit all my newly spawned townies, but don't touch any of my born in game townies since they show the result of that. I find that the game generates the same few faces nowadays, so I do this to keep gene pools more diverse for me to keep playing the same old save lmao.
I usually don't often change names, just ones that were repeated so there aren't 50 something sims with the same exact name.

My main save is absolutely filled with diverse Sims already, but I do make diverse Sims of my own, usually Asian-inspired. As for townies, I generally disregard their existence as general flack in the background unless one looks attractive or there's actually some European names mixed in there.

I like the diversity the game generates. I do spend hours though making over game generated sims (I play 12 different saves). I usually don't change their features, but hairstyle, clothes ... and especially make-up for dark-skinned sims, the choice of lipstick colors is lousy, so approx. 80% of my cc are lipsticks for sim ladies with darker skin tones.
