Does anyone else think the maid is pointless now?

Actually, I think the game made the maids pointless. Just like it did for firefighters, gardeners, babysitters/Nannies, Magicians, Repo Sims... :(

I miss the butler in sims 3 as well he would make food!
but this maid what a sloppy excuse , she comes, watches my food spoil washes a plate and leaves...... like girl no.

ugh the Butler was the WORST!! The maid in Sims 3 at least worked well. The Butler was awful. never worked for me. He kept disappearing when he was suppose to live at the house!

The Sims 2 was the last game with good Services.

The only reliable ones in 3 were the Repairman (as long as he doesn't chat) and the Mailman.

Pizza Man would drive up and walk away, maid would socialise and steal items, the gardener never watered all the plants etc. fireman showed up after my whole kitchen burnt down.
It seriously drove me crazy.

Yet in The Sims 2 they were programmed so well.

I wish you could hire a maid for parties along with caterers, mixologists and entertainers.

I don't think I've ever seen a maid though I have to pay them daily. Either when I follow my sim to work and come back I get a pop up saying the maid came and now I owe her money while she did nothing! Or I've had unemployed sims and I never see the maid!

What is the deal.

I only hired a maid once, and after a week of no cleaning they just stopped showing up. Never hired another.
I really, really miss the repairman though, especially in a house with 2+ kids there is broken plumbing every other day.

Maids always work in my game :)

Guests works better than maids to clean the house and are free.
