- As someone who has 8 sims in my house at all times I have not seen a problem with group vs single meal times. It seems that the times are the same. Where you run into a problem is the line. Sim 1 wakes up goes to make food, now Sim 2 is up and wants to eat, and you have to wait for Sim 1 to get done cooking, this goes down the line for sim 3,4,5,6,7,8. Sometimes you get to the point where some poor sim has waited so long to cook he or she is running out the door for work needing to eat. I have solved this problem a bit by adding 3 stoves. I find with 3 stoves you can get all your sims fed quickly. However for some dumb reason even if you have 100 fridges in your home they all use one. So long story short group meals cook the same time as single meals, but sometimes in the long run single meals take longer if you need more then one sim to cook at the same time. The best way to level up the cooking skill of all your sims is just let the food rot, and rotate cooking duty.

That's why at this point when I have so many sims under one roof and they don't have much time to cook breakfast before heading out, I just have them eat a "quick meal," lol. - PsychoSimXX8 years agoNew SpectatorNo there is no time difference. It takes just as long to cook a single serving just as it does for multiple.
- EmmaVane8 years agoSeasoned AceIf I have 1-2 sims I cook 4 servings by default, and if I want to get cooking up I have them always eat in front of the TV watching cooking shows.
The leftovers come in handy if you are in a rush, and if too much food builds up in the fridge you can do what I do:
Pick up individual servings and hold a bake sale/homemade food sale with the sales tables. - Are the sales tables working now? Oh, right, I think they were fixed in the last patch.
The thing of it is, tho, that group meals do save time, say, for the next morning's breakfast. It cuts the cooking time in half, or a quarter, depending on the servings, if there is zero cooking time then. But you do have to remember to put them away.
The only time it really pays to cook single meals, is if your Sim is in the Culinary Career, and needs to cook so many meals for the Daily Task that they will spoil before they are eaten, and you can't afford to spend more money for more servings. A lot of times, what I do, is to Make Drinks, if possible. Some of the drinks can be poured really quickly, such as the Beers and Wines. If you cancel out to prevent them from drinking, the drinks can be sold after putting them in the inventory. I think you can even sell partially consumed, or even empty glasses, bringing a high enough amount that I consider it a bit cheaty. The last I checked, they hadn't nerfed this. It's great when you're starting out, have no money, but throw a party anyway. B) "Livin in Sim;c-16357102" wrote:

I never thought about doing that. Great idea!- paradiseplanet278 years agoSeasoned AceI always make group meals, at least 1-2 of them for larger households and store them in the fridge. I let them eat it up until there's only a few left and I use whichever Sim who has freetime (usually the one who has the most cooking exp) cook up the next set of group meals to store in the fridge. Family dinner time wastes too much of their time.
