Is anybody else having any these or other problems like it:Can’t decorate the tree with any family members Can’t light the tree with family members Can’t open presents with family members Can’t play cards/don’t wake the llama family member’s Can’t sing together on Holidays with family members I can do all of the above with strangers/friends not living in my household so why isn’t my sim able to select her family members?

I'm not in my game at the moment, but one way to find out if this is a problem with your current game save or not. First, if you play with mods, remove those, and delete a file called localthumbcache.package that is in your The Sims 4 folder. If you don't play with mods or CC, then just delete the file. Then go into your game and see if the issue is still happening. If you don't see the issues, then you'll need to see which mod is outdated. If you don't play with mods and the problem has been corrected, then the issue could have been the localthumbcache file. This file does get corrupted, and from time to time needs to be deleted so the game can make a new file.If you have CC or mods that would affect your sims, then after you have tested to see, don't save after testing. This will keep things in place as far as CC is concerned.

Hmm that's weird I haven't had any Xmas trees catch fire.

I also can’t have an adult sim click on the dollhouse and select play with and the toddlers and children when they select play with no menu pops up to select someone unless there are NPCs around. If there are no NPCs around and select play with they just start playing with the dollhouse by themselves.I think I’m cursed...

I always buy the pre-lit ones now because I've had it happen sooo many times. Maybe it's time I gave it another shot though haha!The first time it happened I lost half the lving room but after that I've had sprinklers installed and they cut on fast enough that I've only lot the tree each time.

Is this a recent problem? I was able to do all that with no problem last I played but that was 3 months ago (busy duirng quarantine, can't wait to get back haha). Except light the tree... but that's not to do with it being with people it's because I have never ever been able to light a tree without it instantly catching fire hahaha!

Are you putting the tree next to a fireplace or in front of it? That shouldn't be happening. Last I checked I was able to light the tree without a fire however since this patch I haven't checked to see if I have those issues in my game.

Also are you using the Seasons Christmas Trees or the Base Game Christmas Tree?

No, I don't have any fireplaces, I've tried many times over the years haha (Every time Christmas rolls around) and haven't been able to do it once without a fire. I'm not sure which tree it is, I think the seasons one? I don't really pay attention to what pack each item comes from and since I just randomly grab one could be both tbh haha. I haven't done it since the patch either

That was the first thing I did. Still didn’t work. I click on the tree and if there’s no NPCs around, only my household, the option of open presents with is greyed out saying your sim has done this recently but my sim can still open a present by herself.

I figured out that the card/don’t wake the Llama had to do with my household not being on the same floor as the game table which is still annoying but at least it’s playable if I make sure they are all nearby.

I've had issues with adults and toddlers, too, and I've got no mods. They can't play together with the dollhouse, and when the parent toilet trains, she stops training after getting the kid on the potty. The same thing happens with blocks - the parent can start teaching but stops.
