Fires are being extinguished instantly

Yeah it's really hard to kill a sim with a fire these days I've noticed. Fires should be a little more unpredictable and fatal sometimes

Even if you're not attempting to kill a Sim via fire, it's disconcerting and frustrating. Why give us firefighters in the game At. Long. Last, if they're really not needed? Even if you put it out quickly to save your household, but one Sim calls the fire department. Once they get there and find no fire, the Sim gets scolded for a 'false' alarm. Sheesh.

yeah i really noticed this during trying to get revenge on bjergsens

also idk if it was always like this but game doesnt let you do anything when there is fire except to put it out it which is just ridiculous

Never thought of it, but yes this should be fixed. Unless a Sim is carrying a fire extinguisher in their inventory, then they should either freak-out or run to the fire suppression system, grab a fire extinguisher, then run back to put it out. There are fire extinguisher "decorations", maybe with a mod, that could be where a Sim could grab one, but only one, not everyone. Hmmm...

Not only that but if there's a *garden* sprinkler anywhere on the lot, if there's a fire, it will be automatically extinguished by a sprinkler that mysteriously appears from the ceiling. Even without the "Fire Prevention System Utility Panel" installed. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

This is happening to me too! I'm also pretty sure that I've never added in any sprinklers, so I don't know why the fires are randomly being extinguished by one that appears on the ceiling. I've also had the issue where every sim on the lot runs over to put out the fire, so it makes trying to start fires on purpose in the game hard to do.

I don't understand why Sims were designed to automatically put out fires in the first place. If they made extinguishers available in build/buy and a Sim carried one (as someone above pointed out) then it makes sense. But fires have always been a "challenge" in the Sims games until Sims 4. It's just another hand-holding mechanism that makes the game feel like it's made for kids and not even an actual game.

But yes, I've seen this too. There have been more fires in my game lately but some Sim always puts it out. I have yet to meet a Fireman.

Exactly, it makes it too easy! I'm trying to play a witch who burns things when she's mad but what's the point? It goes out right away before the alarm can even go off!

Sims in sims 3 could put out fires autonomously too, but only if they had the brave trait, so it wasn't all the time.

I just had two sims catch fire in my game and one of them didn’t react to it. She just stood still while burning to death. The other freaked out though. A third family member rushed to extinguish the fire. It was an odd event to say the least.

Every time I read these kind of threads , I so much would like to know does the OP use mods or not... nevermind..
