- OldeSimsFan5 years agoSeasoned AceIf you mean TS2, then the only limits are imagination and mood, though adding unexpected roomies is a frequent trick. I have Simpe, so it's easy to toss in townies or teens my sim doesn't know. If you mean TS4, there aren't any unless you really like gardening or jungle exploring.. The only real game enliveners are the bugs & glitches.
- Sharooonia5 years agoSeasoned AceI play big families. Playing only one sim bores me. The more family members the better because I like to manage them, their needs, their whims and aspirations all while keeping their relationships up with family and friends, add some pets into the mix, visit plenty of community lots and if that doesn't manage to entertain me then I play the Sims 3 instead.
- lots of social scandals lmao my game is basically soap opera except everyone is the villain
i do wish we had memories and fears etc from ts2 though to make it more dramatic but oh well
also sometimes i just be building endlessly until i think of something fun to do with story
like right now im building huge castle and despite it being ugly cause im bad at big builds its kinda fun - GalacticGal5 years agoLegendIn Sims4, the game will sometimes toss a random twist in for me. I made a copy of my Main Save, so I could fool around with Snowy Escape and not worry about my Sims, or the save getting seriously glitched. In that new save I only copied over the Erik Cantrell household, which consists of Erik, his wife Kayleigh and their four children (very close in age as they had their 'second' baby shortly after their first, and she turned out to be identical twin girls) then they had their second son, Andrew, shortly after the twins. In that game save, just as the eldest child was about to age up, the family got word that the Kayleigh and Hayleigh's dad had deceased. :open_mouth: I'm busy thinking he's not even an Elder, let alone one that's been an Elder for quite some time. What happened? :open_mouth:
Once I made certain my game would be okay, I went back to my Main Save, wherein I had four other households: Aaron Cantrell; Joseph Cantrell, Sr.; the Talek Sen Dene household and the Goldens. I went into the Golden household to verify Drake's age. I had every intention of aging him down a bit, but I saw he had a few days before he was even going to become an Elder, so I let it be.
Now, I have restarted game saves numerous times. Generally speaking, no two restarted households play out the same way. However, this time it did to a degree. (Not entirely certain if it was because I uploaded a copy of this very family into My Library and then used them to start the new save, or what?) But, just as it happened in the Test save, the family came home from their Snowy Escape vacation to learn Drake (an Elder) had passed. This pop-up gave a more thorough background inasmuch as it stated he was serving in Strangerville. Drake was a soldier. I just didn't know before this he was serving in Strangerville. That fed my imagination. Since he had a few days before he was to age up, it strikes me he had just become an Elder, most likely, so another story would have to suffice. Since he was serving in Strangerville, why not have it that he was on a 'secret' mission that failed? Drat the Mother and her evil ways!
So basically, I rarely have to create my own plot twists to keep things interesting. Right now, the game is only too happy to lend a hand. I do use a few mods: Road to Fame; Slice of Life; Mortem; Private Practice; SNB & Bills. I do know that SOL is probably behind my Sims getting propositioned by their same gender parents-in-law and in my other game save the brother-in-law, her husband's next younger brother. But I just set those aside. - ck2135 years agoLegendThe Sims 4 has been so weird for me.
I should have played many different sims by now.
I am still playing the same sims since the first expansion pack
I didn't get serious about playing from cradle to grave until we got toddlers and Parenthood.
So I made group of sims toddlers and am now playing seriously as they grow up.
The first three are in Uni now, another three are in prep school waiting there turn for Uni.
My plan is to rotate between sims and intertwine their stories.
It's been slow because I always stop to explore the latest pack in another save file.
I've been mostly entertaining myself by exploring the latest pack instead of playing my sims.
I think that's changing now.
We have enough packs that TS4 feels more complete.
Although Eco Lifestyles NAPs threw a monkey wrench into the works. (No, I did not find NAPs entertaining.)
I believe things are going to be a lot more entertaining playing my sims through prep school and Uni while taking vacation breaks to
Mt Komorebi, Sulani, Selvadorada and Batuu.
The drama should be increasing too.
Most of them are still children, but will become teens and young adults soon. - Reddestiny9215 years agoLegendI like stories even small ones i mix in happy families and small ones with their opposites with singles whatever works. I also take breaks and play other games just to come and chill with sims.
- Just keep changing it up, makeovers, different towns, different seasons, different homes, different goals, etc etc
- NateWhiplash5 years agoSeasoned VeteranI do it by creating scenarios. I have nightclubs where people get swarmed by bees, I have open-air clubs where people dance in the snow or get struck by lightning, I have a community pool filled with filth....the list goes on. It's about thinking outside of the box
- The most obvious thing for me is usually when I have inspiration. Either I saw something, thought of something, or there is something new that I want to mess with. Inspiration comes and goes, and little is less fun than trying to force it. So, yeah, if I do not have the desire to play I simply do not. That has always been the case for me, though.
It helps that I can be inspired by or reuse some of my old inspiration. For example, I have several old sims that I have attachments to and I already know how everything works with them. Rerolling them into a new a idea is easier than having to come up with everything new, and means even fragments of inspiration are viable. - RouenSims5 years agoSeasoned AceFor me it’s all about rotational play. Anything I can imagine, I can play. I don’t have to stick with only one family.
