Is it true the latest patch broke Sims 4? Is it unplayable?

I've just read that Maxis doesn't plan to patch the Sims 4 this month, because they don't plan to release any new content (patches can't just fix problems anymore I guess)

I haven't actually fired up the Sims 4 since I installed Strangeville, but from what I've seen on the forums and other social media the game appears to very broken right now. Issues range from path finding issues for sims, men spawning in womens clothing, and inventories duplicating "false" items endlessly. There also appears to be some form of random moodlet issue spawning for a lot of players.

I don't understand how they can confirm some of these bugs on twitter, then tell us they don't plan to release a patch this month two days later. Which makes me wonder if reports of these bugs are wildly exaggerated or not as effecting gameplay.

So I was wondering if this is true, is the Sims 4 such a bug ridden mess right now that its not even worth playing at this moment?

Or are these isolated issues that are only effecting small parts of the Sims 4 and its still very playable?

P.S for the record I'm not using mods @ the moment either.
