is the library directly connected to your pc/game?

i had an old laptop that i was playing sims 4 on, i uploaded many sims / homes that i loved to the gallery for protection. Well that laptop crapped out on me and i got a new one..only to find my gallery library empty. When i search my ea name to find my uploads nothing comes up. I've since started new sims and it's fine, but still a bummer :/

  • Are you sure you uploaded your content to the Gallery, or did you just save them to the Library? If the latter, then it's only saved locally, on your computer's hard drive.

Unfortunately, yes, My Library households, lots and rooms are in your computer. They're located in this file:
    My Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/Tray
  • The contents of your library are stored in the ‘Tray’ folder in ‘The Sims 4’ folder. Copying the whole folder from your old PC (if possible) to the new one will bring all of your saved creations back. Anything you have uploaded to the gallery will be accessible from any game so long as you have an internet connection.

Thanks for that bit of info @drake_mccarty - I have lost so many cool lots but now I know what to do.

As long as you're signed in to your EA account, I see no reason why they should have disappeared from the Gallery.
  • They shouldn't disappear from the Gallery. Are you connected to the internet in your game? Make sure you are in the "Community" tab and not "Library" when searching for your stuff on the gallery. :)
  • i have checked all of that- i know i put them up in the gallery because on this old laptop i had to get it re-built and i re-downloaded my sims from the gallery but now they seem to be gone..i've reached out to devs maybe they can help. @DeKay
  • I don't know if you use custom content, but in case you do you would have to have the box to include custom content checked under the advanced options in order to actually see your Sims on the gallery- otherwise they wouldn't show up. If you don't use custom content, feel free to ignore this, but I figured I should suggest it.

What's your Origin ID? Maybe we can check it for you too in the meantime.
