That Von Haunt Estate would have made a good museum if it didn't have to be a "special" lot. Come to think of it, what exactly *is* the special feature of lot type = "Chalet Gardens". I have not noticed sims having to do anything special there that they can't do on other community lots? Same applies to the Ancient Ruins.
I don't even know what a chalet is. The useful thing about those lot types being unchangeable is you get a unique lot.- I don't really see the point of a art gallery lot either (looking at you, municipal muses) and I'm in 2 minds over a lounge.
- I quite like having the lounges but I wish they automatically had musicians hired when you get there.
- runamoksims10 years agoSeasoned AceI always bulldoze the museums. I would leave them alone in TS3 in case there was some possible reason my Sims might want to go there....like maybe an art heist. In TS4 though there just isn't room to keep them around.

I have a klepto chef who regularly visits all the museums, he has acquired a pretty nice art collection which is handy since he is also an art lover.- MVWdeZT10 years agoSeasoned Ace

I stocked one of the museums withall(many) the collectables and am working on adding all the different paintings . That way I can save all the collections for future sims. I hate that when having finished a collection and I no longer play that family the collection is gone. This way different sims can contribute to the museum .
Now THAT is one amazing idea that never occurred to me, and actually is pretty much what real museums are for. I haven't been bothering with making collections, but this idea might just give me a reason to do so. How do you transfer the collection from belonging to your sim to belonging to the museum?
When you take your Sim there, you can just move things out of his inventory and place them. You'll have to go into Build/Buy mode, though, to set up display shelves. "Netzspannung;14928989" wrote:
I always keep at least one museum in every save in case I want to complete the Painter Extraordinaire aspiration, which I do quite often, and to satisfy whims. I don't think you need one in each neighborhood though.
I have been trying to only put one of each commercial lot in a world. I don't need a gym etc in each neighborhood, It takes no longer to go from Oasis Springs gym in any other world as it does to a Gym in the neighborhood. So I pick a gym or other commercial lot that I love and that is the one I use. I delete all others.- GinaMarieOynohs10 years agoRising ScoutOn its own, without any tampering or changing anything, and if you aren't an artist or getting married, then not really. I've played since launch and I went to the museum one time just to see what it was like, after that I haven't been back.
- @FFX2Paine506 I tried to put a bar in the museum but to make it work you have to change it to a bar or park etc. No one tended the bar and no one even went to it. I might try again and change it to park and put park things on the grounds outside. I am not sure if they will look at the paintings or not, Could try a Restaurant on top floor. I don't if that would work or not.

If I ever want to redo a lot, I just bulldoze it and start over instead of trying to work with it. Because without the title of museum, the paintings will just be decoration all over again.
