- I chose a color dislike for one of my sims and then was playing with the new designer career with a new sim I made. She happened to pick up a design job for the sim I made a dislike for and when the Design Sim asked his preferences it came up as the color he disliked. Pretty neat actually.
- Right now their doesn't seem to be a purpose. Sims can't even talk about thier favorite things or compliment another sim when they share the same interest however I think in the future this will work towards an attraction and chemistry system.

I really hope so. :) - ktalexander5 years agoSeasoned AdventurerMy decorator Sim just did a job for a family that loves yellow (incidentally, all of the Sims who have expressed randomised colour preferences in my game seem to love yellow) and during the reveal, they looked at the yellow objects and had a thought bubble with a yellow colour swatch and a thumbs up over their heads. That's the only time I've seen any reaction to colours so far.
- logionX5 years agoLegendThey said that sims don't react to their favorite color when you are playing, because they didn't want to add that to autonomy and having sims getting interrupted all the time. I'm not sure if it adds to the environment score either, I have not seen any buff that they are getting.
But I assumed that their favorite color will affect how much score you are getting when doing gigs in Dream Home Decorator. - simsimsere5 years agoSeasoned AceI think it only affects the DHD gigs, but was patched in for all nevertheless. I don't mind it personally because I like setting it even if it has no effect in game.
- It only affects DHD, but you can ask any sim about Favorite Color even if your sim isn't in the decorator career. (same with music and hobbies preferences)

It would be nice to see some kind of reaction to colour, but I think that there would be a significant risk of happy colour moodlet overpowering the Sims other emotions, so I don't object to their choice. - DaWaterRat5 years agoSeasoned AceHonestly, all I'd want to see from favorite color is having an impact on clothing that is assigned randomly, like ski boots or Bike helmets - such as a sim who doesn't like pink won't randomly get the pink helmet, but one who does like pink will get it more often (or even always). (I know there are mods out there that let you choose one, but I'm trying to cut down on the number of mods I have.)
I wouldn't mind if they got a slight increase to moodlets if the color of a room matched (or decreased in the case of a specifically disliked color) but I don't think it really impacts people that much in real life either. For example, I don't like pink. I don't hate it, but if I have a non-pink option for a particular item, I will choose that one, even if it's another color I don't particularly like, such as Olive green. But if my only option is pink, it doesn't really impact me. Heck, our kitchen came in Pink thanks to the previous owner, and while I've planned to redo it for years, I still enjoy cooking and baking in there.
Now if preferences were on a number scale, then I could see more argument for having color have more impact on a sim's daily life.
