- SimburianNew TravelerI've now got them all and cannot now remember how to put five of each in order as I mix and match them all.
I like bits of all of them but must say that I've found Dine Out the most useful so far as I love making restaurants and cafes but the GTW Windenburg Tudor theme the best for World, decorations and objects. I have complete worlds of Tudor! The rest I cannot list in any order. - SimmervilleSeasoned AceBased on what features I actually use (but this might change every time I play...)
Top 5:
1. Get together = love the world and clubs system
2. City Living = often play sims in the city and think it's well made
3. Seasons = seasons and weather makes the game 100 times more interesting and varied.
4. Get famous = I like the fame system, I use it for a lot more than actors etc.
5. Dine out = Love building and playing restaurants, the variety is unlimited
Bottom 5:
1. Parenthood = hate the advice popups and hardly use the personality extra traits system
2. Glamour/butler = so little content when the butler is broken bill wise
3. Cats & Dogs = Well made but I hardly ever play pets (they take a bit too much attention I think)
4. Get to work = Hardly played any career yet, but use lots of the items.
5. Discover university = I like it, but it gets repetitive, so I just rush through it when someone go there. - Top 5:
1. Vampires (I think 4 has the best vampires in the series. Plus I love the world and all the build/buy and CAS stuff.)
2. Seasons (Nice, well rounded addition in all aspects.)
3. Eco Lifestyle/Island Living (If considering use as a big factor, I really do use the stuff added with these two. I love Sulani and mermaids, even if they could be better. These two packs really round out an off the grid lifestyle I like to play. Eco Lifestyle itself, as buggy as it was and not a theme I would have asked for, felt ambitious and I liked a lot of the little details that came with it and the update around it. Definitely needs some work to earn the spot, so I am putting the two together.)
4. Parenthood (I am not necessarily a huge family or generational player, but I do think 4 has the best toddlers and Parenthood was solid in additional play for families for me.)
5. Kids Room Stuff (Surprise pick, even for me, since I usually don't play kids. Still, even with the bed monster being annoying, I do like it being a feature. Plus, I have grown to truly adore the voidcritters. They just should have been playable with teens at least, too.)
Bottom 5
1. Cats and Dogs (Give or take My First Pet Stuff, too) (Pets are my make it or break it pack every iteration and did these amazing looking, but soulless pets break it. I have NPCS without relationships taking up family slots running around my house, and children cannot walk or bathe them. Just sigh.)
2. Realm of Magic (It was not the absolute worst, especially for the added items, but witches were my favorite occult in 2 and 3. After vampires, I was fairly looking forward to them. Casters, though, with a fair skill tree feel way too similar to one another. The bloodline traits and world were cool ideas that did not get the attention they needed to be great and the casters themselves can only be distinguished through purely aesthetic choices. I was thinking maybe I could do something with the curses to be like vampire weaknesses, but it does not work that well. Just another disappointment to me in an area I usually love.)
3. Bowling Night Stuff (I just don't use it. Seems kind of pointless.)
4. Outdoor Retreat (I like some of the things they tried to do with it, but locking all the bugs to Granite Falls makes using the herbalism skill impractical and I just don't go camping that often. I don't regret buying it, but it is lower on my list.)
5. Insert Randon Stuff Pack Here (I thought about throwing Get Together under the bus for how little I use clubs, but you can do some useful things with them and the world is a good one. Strangerville also has a good world and an interesting enough narrative, plus I like the clothes and story opportunities. Then I could throw Get To Work under the bus, too, since it feels kind of bland, but I would absolutely want aliens, the active careers, and retail opportunities. Spa Day was not amazing and I don't really use spa lots, but I do use the items and interactions at home. Dine Out is buggy, but I love the concept. City Living offers apartments and festivals, plus all sorts of new recipes, at least. So yeah, I was left with stuff packs that mean about the same to me. Pick one.) - SharoooniaNew SpectatorMy favourites:
1, Seasons.
2, Island Living.
3, Vampires.
4, Cats and Dogs.
5, City Living.
Least Favourites:
1, Discover University.
2, Realm of Magic.
3, Jungle Adevtures.
4, Outdoor Retreat.
5, Moschino. - ChadSims2Seasoned NoviceFavorites
1. Get Together - Well thought at pack that truly changed how the game could be played
2. Parenthood - Brought in a tiny bit of family play that the game needed
3. Spa Day - Well thought out fully fleshed out theme that truly delivers the experience it set out to do
4. Movie Hangout - Another pack that delivers on its theme that did not make me go that's it
5. Seasons - Far from perfect but decent for Sims 4
Dislike or will never get them
1. Magic - No interest in this theme whatsoever
2. Vampires - Cant stake them useless
3. My first Pet - Ugly furniture and I'm not weird enough to dress a pet
4. Luxury Party - Pretty useless could have at least added some snobbish party interactions and I would of probably loved it for what it is or something like slow dancing would of made this a must have pack (The knitting pack shows how much this one is a joke and should be updated)
5. Get to Work - such a disappointment should be the best expansion of all - Here are my favorites and least favorites:
1. Parenthood- I am a family style player and I use this gameplay almost everytime I play. The counters from B&B are my favs, and I love using the skill. It just really adds to having a family
2. City Living- I love apartments and have played in San Mushino more times than I can even count!
3. Seasons- This is a pack I use everytime I play, so it is impossible to be forgotten about!
4. Get together- I love the giant world, that is basically the only reason. The world is just great to play in.
5. Kids room stuff- This has become my go-to for B&B and by far one of the nest stuff packs
Honorable mention: Toddler stuff- There are almost no cute toddler clothes in the base game, so this is a necessary for CAS
1. Outdoor Retreat- I got this in a preselected bundle and never use it. The CAS is boring, not much to be said about B&B, and I have probably used the gameplay twice
2. Spa Day- I don't visit spas very often, the B&B isn't my style, and I have never used the mindfulness skill
3. Strangerville- I bought this pack and played through it once, and have never used the world again. It was enjoyable for a few days, but not much else to get out of it.
4. Vampires- I rarely use this pack, it just doesn't fit my playstyle. I want to use it more though.
5. Get to Work- I've played with the careers a few times, it is nice to follow your sim to work, but B&B and CAS are seriously lacking.
Honorable mention: Cool Kitchen Stuff- I got this in a bundle and almost never use it. I like the counters, but have only used the ice cream machine once.
Unpopular opinions:
Cats & Dogs isn't very good. I only use the B&B and don't play with pets
My first pet stuff is kinda good. I like the B&B and think it makes an adorable kids room
Get Famous, Island Living, and University are mostly play through one time packs and then ignore. - ChampandGirlieNew SpectatorI don't really like to rank them because I find interest in nearly all of them. It's not an exact ranking
I don't have Eco yet so I'm not factoring it in.
Top 5 (Plus a few):
- Seasons (Amazing even though summer is my favorite)
- Cats & Dogs (They are needy but the pets complete my game and Brindleton Bay is really well done)
- Dine Out (pre-bugs)/Spa Day - I'm counting these as two because I got them at the same time. My sims like to go out.
- Jungle Adventure (I'd like more packs like this, maybe with an option to live in the worlds).
- Island Living (Yeah, it could have had more but it is gorgeous with fun activities. I enjoy that pack and world).
- StrangerVille (I know I'm an outlier but I generally liked this pack for the world, CAS/BB & quirkiness; I like playing the dusty town after the story finished as a normal place).
Packs that are less my style:
- My First Pet Stuff (I got this in a bundle and still haven't used it).
- Luxury Party Stuff (I use the chocolate fountain for weddings and a few wealthy households).
- Get To Work (Could have been done better)
- Dine Out with bugs (it's really broken)
- Supernatural themes aren't really my style, I play with some of the content but not really with the supernatural elements.
Spooky Party Stuff is not really my style but I do kind of like it. I have spooky parties in the fall when possible and use some of the stuff. I like the pumpkin carving station.)
I know some people don't like the bowling but I do. I like activity packs. I do like Parenthood and Laundry Day. I could only list my top picks. I'd like it if they add more to Outdoor Retreat but I do send sims camping at times. More vacation options are needed.
I like most of the stuff packs. - Favorite:
1. Island Living (because dolphins!!!)
2. Seasons
3. Get to Work
4. Discover University
5. Eco Lifestyle
Least Favorite:
1. Cats and Dogs (I am SO disappointed in this pack - not at all what I was expecting especially after what was in Sims 3 Pets)
2. Moschino
3. Fitness
4. Romantic Garden
5. Bowling Night - Kita5399New SpectatorMy favorites:
1) Discover University
2) Dine Out
3) Island Living
4) Seasons
5) Get together
My least favorites:
1) Moschino stuff
2) Laundry Day
3) Fitness Stuff
4) Spooky stuff
5) Strangerville
I can’t say I truly dislike any of them, but most of the stuff packs I only use for CAS. I do have all the packs, so my least favorites just ended up being the few I use the core features of the least. - My favorites:
1) Seasons
2) Island Living
3) Realm of Magic
4) Parenthood
5) Cats & Dogs
My least favorites:
1) My First Pet Stuff
2) Luxury Party Stuff
3) Spooky Stuff
4) Perfect Patio Stuff
5) Backyard Stuff
This is mostly based on which packs I play with the most - not on overall quality. For example: I think Vampires and Laundry Day are up there with the best quality packs, but they're just not my favorites.
