Klepto NPC: stealing critical items from non-residential lots?

Never saw this before in my game: I first noticed a klepto sim stealing things from my house - no big deal. But then I notice critical things are being stolen from non-residential lots. DJ booth from dance lot, along with tables, barstools, making the lot unusable if you try to return. That seems to be a game-breaker. This happening to anyone else? If it's legit, seems odd I've never had that happen in non-residential lots before.

    Do you have Eco Living? If you do, it’s probably because some random neighbourhood enacted the “sharing is caring” NAP and the game doesn’t check location for npc behaviour or something extremely stupid like that.

    It's probably Sharing is Caring. It almost made me stop playing until I found you can instantly repeal it with testingcheats (shift-click the mailbox and it will you the option).

    It can break community lots because the lot is missing required objects. I had to go around and fix the bar and the my park. I shut off NAPs and everything to do with that pack in options but it seems like they still go into effect. I still get notifications about NAP's.

    Oh great - so any neighborhood that has it will cause those sims to start ruining all the lots you visit.
    Any way around this since it's impractical to visit every neighborhood to make sure it doesn't have "sharing is caring"?

    Until (if) it officially gets fixed.. not really. Your options are: start a new save with all NPC voting off to start, load a house in every neighborhood in a current save to repeal the NAPs then turn NPC voting off, or use mods.
