Moving A Sim Out and Keeping Furniture

Probably the best bet is to save it to your library, move your sim out with or without the furniture then re-place the house via the gallery.

The trick is to move them through Manage Worlds. :)

No, no, there's a much easier way. If you evict the family, the house will remain as-is until you move another family in (or move the original family back in.)

Or when on the "moving" screen where it asks if you want to sell or keep furniture, choose sell. You'll get simoleons & the furniture stays with the house. But evicting is an excellent option too; you just need to go in to Household Management, click on the family & then move them where you want. Pretty easy to do :smile: .

You’ll have to either evict them, or when you move and the option to keep or sell furniture, sell. It’ll stay in the house/apartment.

I don't know what experience you guys have had, but I have tried both many times, and when I chose to move and sell furniture, the furniture basically disappeared into the ether. I have _only_ had the furniture remain when I evict.

This is my concern!! That it means sell and all the furniture gets sold!

I would strongly suggest evicting. Then just to be on the safe side, go into build mode to check the house right afterward. The whole process should take about 2-3 minutes, and if there's any problem, you can exit without saving (just be sure you saved right before you do this).

I mean, I'm confident in telling you that this will work, but I'm also a stranger on the internet, and you have no reason to trust me, so you should definitely test it for yourself! :D

I would also double-check to make sure you don't have neighborhood auto-populate (it might be called something slightly different?) selected in your Options, because if random people move into the house after your family is gone, that could change things.

You can just pack your furniture into a box, move that box into your sims inventory, even Name the box and your good to go.
