@rosemow Is this a know bug or just part of the game?
Hello
I think that it just may be a part of the game. You need to keep, watch on the vampires to avoid them spending too much time in the sunlight.- The day walker thing was one of the first powers I made sure to get my sim because of their penchant for running around outside in the daylight. I gotta admit, I sorta liked the challenge of keeping them from running head-first into death.
- It just seem a bit difficult when you have more than one vamp in your house. I've had 2 die on me so far...
- :o I haven't given my vamp the immunity to sunlight as he has amazing abilities of self-preservation. I wonder why he knows to not eat human-sim food and get out of the sun... He has maxed Lore so maybe that is the difference?

In my (very limited) experience thus far with vampire sims, maxed lore does not seem to make them any wiser, concerning self preservation and self care, unfortunately.
I had a regular club gathering at my house that consisted of a group of mortals that don't mind donating plasma to family on a regular basis, and half the time my female vampire, with no travel powers, tried to feed on one of them, she would run out onto the street in broad daylight to initiate the conversation/interaction, which would have killed her many numerous times if I had not interrupted and forced her back into the house ASAP.
I'm not sure what caused this, perhaps the house was too crowded and there wasn't enough space for the 'feeding' in the room she was standing in? I don't believe she was worried about 'witnesses' but maybe that had something to do with it? At any rate, she was a max ranked vampire and nothing but my intervention stopped her from making herself roadkill in broad daylight. :D
I do agree that vampires should be a bit more... discerning concerning self preservation. But until then, I will be keeping my eye on them constantly unless they are hibernating in their coffins.- Ironically, I thought this was going to be me and I haven't lost a vampire yet. Granted, I haven't been placing outdoor activities around my house.
You could just have a special part of the home he goes in during the day and then lock that door so he can't get out autonomously. Then again, those stats on vampire deaths. Far be it from me to help them go lower. - Just get the sun resistance trait.. problem solved... or lock them in the basement or put them to sleep in their coffin until night.
- The townie vampires seem to die of being in the sun because they seem to act like normal sims and try to do normal outside things as well as my sims that i just play they just wanna do everything as if they weren't a vampire as in the sims 2 or 3 they would walk back inside and do the smart thing :persevere:
- Wow..I haven't has any townie vamps die in the sun and apart from my own carelessness when I first started playing (lol hadn't built my vamp a house!!) I haven't had any deaths due to sunlight at all.
Maybe I have just be super lucky. :/ I'd kinda like seeing townie vamps frying etc - "Just going to go out and check the mail... Oh yeah -,,- "
